Arwa:

"WAKE UP AR-W4." "WAKE UP AR-W4." "WAKE UP AR-W4-"
"What?!" I jolted forwards, my eyes open as the robotic voice calling my name stopped instantly. I looked around.
No.

No, no, no, no, no.

I was back there again I was back in that room again. I was back in that chair again. My arms weren't shackled, but my legs were unable to move. I couldn't control them, it was like they had disappeared, but they hadn't. I could see them.

I looked up if I could see that blue- green screen on the ceiling again, the lights on the walls humming. But no, it wasn't there anymore, yet I was sure this was the same room.
"WE MUST BEGIN QUICKLY, WE'RE ONLY HERE TO HELP."
That screen was in from of me, bigger this time. It moved around a little to perfectly meet my gaze. "WE'RE ONLY HERE TO HELP." It said that again. It had a voice, robotic but yet somehow human. It was loud, but not shouting. It was almost calm. The lights flashed again, I was surprised I wasn't shackled down. I sat up a little, only now realising that I wasn't in any gross gown like last time, I was in my normal jumper and I still had my hat on. "RELAX AR-W4." A robotic arm snaked out the bottom of the chair and pushed me down. Not aggressively, but I stayed quiet nonetheless.

I had forgotten how long it had been since somebody had called me AR-W4. That was my name after all. It just... didn't feel right.
"I-I... please just... call me Arwa ok? Not... AR-W4..." The lights flashed before replying to me,
"AS SAID BEFORE ARWA, WE'RE ONLY HERE TO HELP."

I stayed quiet again. Maybe it was here to help, maybe I just had this all wrong. Maybe the only reason I was in that place was so my mask could get fixed, that was the whole reason behind all this.

No. I didn't think that was true. There were other things here, other things that didn't make sense. When I ran away, they would of left me for dead, I was a runaway human. I'd just starve or something. But they continued to hunt me down, twice. And that didn't explain why the same men that chased me looked just like the people Chimaera described that killed the Mynx. These people weren't Maskmakers.

"WE PRESERVE FUTURE: EVERYTHING'S CONNECTED. KILL THE REVOLUTION: EVERYTHING'S CONNECTED." The room began to hum and buzz as the screen changed colours as it spoke. When it said kill the revolution, the red screen tore away and filled up with green. I didn't know what any of this meant. I just wanted to go back to Hallow. I wanted to see Chimaera again.

"DNA IS CRUCIAL, WE MUST UNDERSTAND IT." Another robotic hand came out as the lights sped up, but then I saw a scalpel on the end of the tip.
"G-Get away from me please!" But it was too late now. It had cut through the side of my leg, the legs I couldn't feel. The blood on the tip of the knife dripped as I tried to grab it to get away, but it tucked in the side of the chair and wherever it went after that. "NOW PREPARE THE WIRE. FORMING CALCULATIONS: WE PRESERVE THE FUTURE."

All I could do was struggle and stare at the screen, somehow I was sucked in with the ever changing colours and images. It seemed like this machine only had a few set phrases. It kept on repeating itself: Everything's connected, We're only here to help, We preserve the future, Everything's connected. But it made no sense to me.

The lights began to dim down until it became almost completely black, all that illuminated the room were the lights on the walls and the screen. It began to say things I didn't understand, the images getting quicker and quicker, the noise getting louder and louder. It almost was like The Voices on how the nonstop speaking and loud creed would drum into my ears.
"I don't understand you, let me go!" I shouted as the room became fully dark. Now it was only the screen and me.

"THINK ABOUT IT THIS WAY: CONTROLLED EVOLUTION. WE DISTRIBUTE NEW BREEDS, SYMBOLISING FREEDOM. EVERYONE WILL HAVE IT, ALL THE FIGHTING'S OVER, THERE WILL BE NO CONFLICT, THOSE WHISPERS REJECTED." Images of everything came up on the screen, things I know, things I didn't know, things I didn't want to see. It voice became louder as I sucked in the images like a vacuum, everything pilling up and up and up until I couldn't hold anymore. All I could process were the images and the noise from the machine, that was all the mattered anymore.

Terra, green, disagreeing, green, life, green, water, green, nuclear warfare, green, death, green,
Ideas, green, blood, green, bones, green, bodies, green, killing, green, destruction, green,
Technology, green, genes, green, murderers, green, leaders, green, scientists, green,
Absence, green, discoveries, green, calamity, green, Mynx, green, explosions, green, war,
Nothing, green, blood, green, death, green, empty, green, fleeing, green, catastrophe,
green.

And all between it those words, that noise,"THERE'S NO LONGER PEOPLE, ONLY ESSENCE FILLS US. THERE'S NO LONGER CONFLICT, ESSENCE ALWAYS FILLS US. ESSENCE GIVES US HUNGER, IT'S ONLY HERE TO HELP. NOW PREPARE THE WIRE. WE'RE ONLY HERE TO HELP."

Then everything slowed. The screen went off. The buzz continued. I stayed there, my eyes stung from those images those images ad thoughts of everything... I felt like I had been through years of my life in just one moment. Darkness seeped in, we're they only here to-

Then the shackles clamped around my wrist.
Shit.

HELP ME HELP ME STOP PLEASE. ITS DIGGING THINGS IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD. THE BACK OF MY HEAD I CAN FEEL IT BLEEDING I CAN'T DO ANYTHING.

I see a green syringe appear. It scares me. Don't do it don't do it don't do it. The needle scares me. The green colour shuts The Voices up. They're gone. Everything's gone, everybody will be gone! It's just like those green tanks I saw ages ago. I almost forgot them. It sticks something into the back of my head, it feels metallic I hate it, I hate it! STOP IT EVERYBODY WILL BE GONE. Then I look at the screen and it has a smile on and I can hear screeching and whirring of metal and I look behind me to see a long collection of wires. DONT DARE PUT THAT IN ME DONT DARE PUT THAT IN ME.

It puts it in the back of my head. My head I'm screaming, The Voices are screaming, I can see things and I can know things I didn't know before, stuff I don't wanna know I don't wanna, I don't wanna-

Then it all turns off. Everything, the lights the machines, the metal arm with the syringe just goes limp and The Wire explodes. It explodes. And I'm falling in my chair, down, down, down. I can't see anything. I can't hear anything. I can't move my body. I can't open my eyes. All I can feel is the mask tight on my face. Now I can feel a clamp round my neck. And I can feel things again.

I stopped falling. I open my eyes as they're burned from the white light. I finally I looked up, Juna and Bliss were staring right at me. Everything's stopped.

I looked around again, and standing a bit more away from them and much more gingerly was this man in a cloak. Not like Chimaera's, it was a long black coat that seemed a little worn around the edges but otherwise it seemed very smart. His hair was a natural grey and unkempt. He also had what I guessed was a breathing apparatus, half of his face was covered by a grey face mask style kinda thing but more mechanic. What the hell has happened to me?

Wait. Then I just realised. This was the first even person I've seen without a mask. He's like me. Is that what I look like? Is my face like that? Are my eyes... is my skin... is this...

Is this normal?

The man was looking away, I expected Juna was smiling under his robotic breathing mask and Bliss was staring into the distance, humming something or other. What the hell just happened to me?
