Chapter 22: Arogog

Y/n POV
After we had found out about the news the boys were sure it had something to do with Riddle.

"If you guys are so sure then why don't you two head down to Hagrid's together and I go talk to her." I suggest, getting tired of them blaming her and I myself just wanting to know the truth.

"Are you mental?! You could end up like Hermione." Ron exclaims.

"Well, I wish to know the truth, and this seems to be the only way to get it." I say stubbornly.

"Are you sure it's the only way?" Harry asks, trying to be the calm one.

"I'm certain of it, and that I will be fine." I state.

"Then go on, we'll go to Hagrid's." Harry says with slight reluctancy.

"I won't let you down." I say with a salute before leaving to find Riddle.

After a bit I find her, or rather she finds me, in the courtyard.

"Turner, with me." Riddle tells me and starts to walk towards Hagrid's.

Why is she leading me to Hagrid's?

"What are we doing?" I ask after catching up, as she didn't wait for me.

"To hijack a car." She stares blankly.

A CAR?!

"What do you mean a car? There aren't any cars near Hogwarts." I question, very considered.

"The flying Ford, that got beat up by the Whomping Willow." She answers, as we start to detour away from Hagrid's and towards part of the forbidden forest.

"Are you should this is safe or even allowed?" I ask, considered for my well-being.

She's not going to try to end me or anything, is she?

"If you're that concerned you can head back. I just thought you wanted to discuss something with me." She says, as we enter the forest.

"I do. It's just that, this is named the forbidden for a reason." I say.

"It is but when has that ever stopped your friends." She comments.

"Well, yeah." I start before realising she had me, so instead I change the topic, "What did you do to Hermione?"

"Granger? Oh, right that's what you wanted to talk to me about." She says like it was something she had forgotten or had slipped her mind.

"So, what did you do?" I press on.

"I did nothing to her. She asked her questions, got some answers and left. She was later found by Winter when, I asked her to.. put a book back for me." She says.

What's with the pause?

"That still doesn't mean you didn't do anything." I point out.

"I guess it doesn't. I guess you'll just have to take me at my word unless I have another way to prove it." She says thoughtfully as she wipes out her wand and reveals the car.

"A Car, The car?!" I exclaim.

"Yes, it is." She says thinking it obvious and opens the driver's door.

"Huh?! We're getting in?!" I state.

"Yeah, I said hijacking the car. That means getting in it." She says like she is talking to a toddler, before saying, "Now get in, or I leave you out here alone and without telling you about my alibi."

"You have one?" I question and get into the front passenger seat.

"Yeah, I have one." She says before stating to herself out loud, "At least it should be a piece of cake. It's on the same side I'm used to."

Does she know how to drive a car?

With that she started the car and started driving it through the forest.

After a moment or so, "About the alibi, I was in the Slytherin common room or my dorm room all of that day after Prince came and collected me. Meaning I wasn't alone between the time I left Hermione to her being found." She explains.

"Okay, then why are we in a car?" I question.

"We're. Going to go save your friends." She states causally.

"Save? Are they in trouble?" I panic a little.

"They're fine at the moment. They're just talking with Arogog. The only issue is when they stop talking, his family is kind of hungry." She says.

"Kind of?!" I say, not believe that she can be calm about all of this.

"Yeah and quick warning, when I pull up I'm going to need you to open one of the back doors for them." She warns me.

"Ah, sure." I answer still trying to wrap my head around what's about to happen.

Soon it was showtime as we get closer, we hear the conversation end, the boys start to scream and run for their lives. Only for us to stop in front of them and I open the door for them.

"Get in boys, unless you want to become spider food." Riddle states, the two looked slightly hesitant before jumping straight into the car and shutting the door.

Riddle causes the car to take off and eventually we needed up flying our way out of the forest to the outskirts, where we finally land, and all get out.

"Thank you for your service." Riddle says and bows to the car, to which it flashes it's lights in response and takes off on its own.

The car can drive itself? Why is that not the craziest thing I've seen today.

"Well, that's my cure to leave as well. Good luck on your journey to find the one behind the opening of the chamber and do try to stay out of trouble." Riddle farewells and heads off.

"Wait, how do we know it isn't you?" Harry calls out.

"Ask Turner, I answered her questions about Granger." She says before quickly disappearing from view.

With that, we to make our way back to the castle and discussed our findings.
