Y/n POV
We got some new classes this year, two of those being Divination and Care of Magical Creatures.
Divination is all about reading into the future and stuff like that. Which isn't that bad, though Hermione doesn't seem to share that same view. She ends up dropping the subject.
I notice that she isn't the only one to drop the subject either. Winter dropping it at the same time as Hermione. No one else had dropped it. Though Riddle seemed to almost follow suit, only for Emily, who is great at the subject, convinces her to stay. Prince decided to not to do the subject to begin with.
In the care of magical creatures, we are being taught by Hagrid. The books are alive unlike our other books but after petting the spine they calm down. This is another subject Prince decided not to take.
On this particular day, we were taken to meet a hippogriff named Buckbeak. Buckbeak is to be treated with caution being a magical creature and all.
Before meeting Buckbeak we gathered and waited for Hagrid to bring Buckbeak over. While turning to page 49.
"I think they're funny." Hermione states.
The books? Right?
"Oh yeah, terribly funny, really witty." Malfoy says as Riddle quietly says the same thing at the same time.
Malfoy then goes on to insult Hagrid. Meanwhile, Winter was giving Riddle a questioning look.
"Shut up, Malfoy." Harry says walking over.
Malfoy and Harry share an exchange, as Riddle look like she was about to crack up laughing.
"Riddle?" Emily questions.
"He seems so gay for Potter with that looking up and down of him." Riddle says quietly with a smirk, which I only just hear from being not too far away from her.
The exchange ends and Malfoy gives Riddle a quick look, clearly stating he heard that. Her smirk turns into a big grin at that. Though before anything else can be said or done, Hagrid returns.
hippogriffs are proud creatures and you shouldn't insult one, or may you Rest In Peace.
"Who would like to come say hello?" Hagrid asks and the class basically all steps back except for poor Harry and Riddle.
Did she step forward?!
"Are you certain you're not a Gryffindor? Riddle." Emily asks jokingly.
"Perfectly certain. If anything, I could be considered a Ravenclaw Slytherin." She states in return as she makes her way over to Buckbeak on her own, freaking out Hagrid a little.
"Wait, you don't-" Hagrid starts.
"I'm aware." She cuts him off as she bows to Buckbeak.
We all hold our breaths as she is like that for a few moments before Buckbeak bows in response.
"He likes you." Hagrid states with relief, Harry just looked glad he wasn't being forced into this.
Soon enough Riddle is in the sky on Buckbeak's back and once she comes to land. She gets off and Malfoy starts to march his way over, as she pets Buckbeak.
"You're not that scary at all." Malfoy says in front of Buckbeak.
Buckbeak goes to attack only for Riddle to beat him to it, having her wand out and had thrown Malfoy back well out of the way. She then turns to Buckbeak and calms him down while Malfoy starts to complain that he is hurt.
"You will be in a moment if you don't stop whining." Riddle states darkly.
Would she hurt him? Maybe, they don't particularly get along.
"You care for Buckbeak, how cute." Emily teases.
Soon though Malfoy was taken to the Hospital wing after Riddle sends a jinx his way, though he still says that his father will hear about as he leaves, so he mustn't be that hurt.
