Chapter 4

Andy

I looked at the clock on the nightstand.

1:05.

I had only been asleep for a few hours.

Chloe was still wrapped in my arms, sleeping peacefully.

She had said she loved me.

I felt good inside, something I hadn't felt in a long time. My stomach even got butterflies when I was with her. My heart raced when I thought about her.

My conscience nagged at me.

You've only just met, and you're saying you love each other, it said.

I figured I would have to keep the I love you's in for a while. We had just met yesterday after noon, there was no way we should be saying I love you right now.

We needed to slow down.

And for Chloe, I would wait.

Andy

I woke up in the middle of the night, and for some reason I felt annoyed.

Ugh. Fuck.

I could feel it. A little voice nagging at me in the back of my mind.

I needed a cigarette.

That's why I had woken. I only smoked once yesterday, and that was no where near enough.

I carefully slipped out of Chloe's grasp and walked to my dresser, grabbing my cigarettes and my lighter. Quietly, I slipped out the door and walked downstairs.

Somebody whistled.

"Hey sexy," a voice said.

"Hey Jinxx," I said into the dark.

"How did you know it was me?" Jinxx said.

"Because I know your voice dumbass," I said with a laugh.

"Dammit. So what are you doing?" he asked.

"Oh, need a little cig break. What are you doing awake?"

"Just woke up a few minutes ago. I was trying to fall back asleep, then I heard you walk down the stairs," Jinxx paused. "You guys fall asleep okay?" he asked

"Yeah. I mean, I sang her to sleep," I said, smiling widely in the dark. "Why?"

"CC and Jake were being obnoxiously loud, and I just wondered if they bothered you," Jinxx said.

"Didn't even hear them."

"Good," Jinxx said with laugh. "Alright. Go have your smoke."

"Okay Jinxx. Sleep tight," I said with a wink, even though he couldn't see me in the darkness of the living room.

I walked out the back door and into the backyard. I headed towards the trampoline, stumbling in the dark. It didn't matter if I was just in my batman boxers, I figured. It was dark, and nobody was ever outside anyways. Hopping up on the trampoline, I was hit with a wave of nostalgia.

I had missed this trampoline. It'd been about a year since I had been on it last. And it had been even longer since me or the guys had jumped on it. I used to come out here all the time, and usually sleep on it.
