Narrator's point of view
the runaway team made their way down the giant crater that when they were met with a bunch of scavengers worry puts their skin ravaged by a drug known as shimmer. Caitlin flashed alight on them and they scurried away like rats afraid of the light she looked around and saw many fallen tents and dead bodies with the same symptoms horrified her to see what was lurking beneath the city
Caitlin horrified: what is this place?
vi weekly responded: the place you topside don't talk about... But it was never this big
izuku looked around disgusted by what he saw: this isn't right these people need help, the living lower than pigs how could anyone let it get this far.
Three of them squandered through the beggars and the disfigured and they finally made it to a house that definitely looked like it saw better days it was run down beaten it was more ruins than it was a house. But it will shelter and a good place to hide until their pursuers gave up, they scampered in and placed their wounded to the floor to let her rest she went back into unconsciousness
Caitlin: she needs a doctor
izuku: I realise that but exactly in the best place to find one, I just don't understand how could anything get this bad what in the world happened here
Caitlin began to explain to her (technical) superior: well I suppose it all started when this drug that the people of the under city call shimmer started coming in. The type of drug that increases a person's physical strength but it kinda turns into a monster the people out there look like victims of its main side effects
izuku: sounds like something I have in my society the call performance enhancers increase someone's abilities to a heightened level but makes the person delusional and sporadic. At first it was legal to use but after some incidents the government decided to make it illegal because it doesn't stop people from making it and trying it out
Caitlin nodded and decided to do some recon however the second she open the door she was surprised by a hooded man with glasses. He saw vi and recognised instantly this only furthered the former officer's suspicions however after a brief conversation and promises to find a way to help she began to trust him however izuku was a bit more sceptical
before Caitlin and him could go he whispers into Caitlin hear: listen careful we don't know this guy could be leading you into a trap I'll stay here with vi but be careful and don't trust anyone or anything out there okay?
The officer nodded as she put up a hood and walked out into the darkness, leaving izuku to try his best to keep young woman alive. He borrows medical kit again he was running low on supplies because under normal circumstances he wouldn't be kept with person in this critical condition for very long they would have most likely been led to a hospital or doctor by now but from the boy know, hospitals didn't exist in this bizarro world that he found himself in. While he was redressing the wound vi regained consciousness a bit better than before
vi tried to sound threatening but barely tell what was real or fake because she was getting flashbacks of her sister living in the place that she once called home: who the hell are you?
izuku remained focus on the woman's well-being despite her unusual way of gratitude: I'm the guy that saved you from bleeding out and helps you get down here. Don't worry don't expect to thank you but can you stop fidgeting so much in making this a lot harder than it needs to be
vi: I don't need your help topside and I had that fight I didn't need your help
the hero in training sarcastically responded with: oh so getting stamped was part of your brilliant fighting plan truly you must be an expert in the ways of combat
