Back to Mitchell

The thought of Rick kissing me was totally unexpected, but I liked it. Just what I wanted, sort of. It's Monday and I leave the house to walk to school. I get there and I see Rick. He looks anxious. I'm pretty sure it's for what happened yesterday.

"Hey," I tell him.

"Hi," he says a bit worried.

He gets closer to me. I'm not sure if he wants to apologize or if he wants to ask me out. What am I thinking?

"Look Mitch, yesterday, yesterday was.... Look I'm sorry if I threw you off there but, ugh, look, I don't know but I'm sorry. Can we just forget about yesterday and pretend like nothing happened?"

"Um, sure. Yea, I mean I guess," I say.

The bell barely rings and we walk to first period. In first, Rick was a bit strange. He avoided me a bit, he didn't really talk to me as usual in class. But in 5th period, he talked to me, but he didn't like bothered me or laid his head in my shoulder. How odd.

I felt worried too, I think how I said ok into forgetting yesterday seemed that I was gonna blow it off and tell everybody. I call him once I get home.

"Hello?" He asks.

"Look, Rick, sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable today in class. Look, we can forget about, yesterday, if that's ok?" I ask.

He stops for a minute.

"Sure, well, um, thanks for understanding. What I did was stupid, I'm sorry Mitchell."

"Don't even mention it Rick," I tell him.

We both hang up and I continue to watch Netflix on my phone. But after that, I felt like calling Rick again, telling him what he did was totally ok and if he can do it again tomorrow. What am I thinking. Does he like me? He likes me! O my god! How can I just realize right now? I... I'm speechless.

I don't call Monica this time. I want to deal with this on my own. I go to sleep, but I wake up from an awkward dream, not even remembering what it was. It was too exciting to be true.
