Chapter 17: A Shocking Upset

"Woah, you okay?" Ket asked, jogging up to Genu with a worried expression. The electricity died off as he approached, and he quickly helped Genu up. Ket got a good view of Genu's bloody face, a look of guilt in his eyes. What happened to him? There was blood everywhere, who did this?! If only he had been here sooner... "W-What happened to you?" He asked, trying to wipe some of the blood up with shirt sleeve.

"R-Re... Bound..." Genu replied, coughing in between sputters. He felt so weak, so tired... He fought as hard as he could, and his body had paid the price! Right on cue, the Vice-Admiral pushed the door off of him and got up. His perfectly ironed uniform now caked with dust and grime, and he was NOT pleased!

"How DARE you!" Rebound roared, trying to clean his clothes to no avail. He glared at Ket with hatred and confusion. "And who might you be?" Rebound questioned, unhappy with the intrusion.

"Huh?" Ket replied, scooching Genu away from Rebound. He gets it now: This Navy guy is the Vice-Admiral of Techt, and he was about to kill Genu! Well, not on Ket's watch! He looked over to Genu and smiled. "Way to hang on, I'll handle the rest!" He insisted, patting the boy on the head. Genu looked up at Ket with a dazed and glazed face. Ket... Ket saved him! He didn't stand a chance against Rebound... But Ket seems strong... He might be able to win!

"Y..." Genu started, still largely out-of-focus. He shook his head and gave Ket a look of determination, vigor in his voice as he began to speak. "Y-You gotta get the blueprints! I-If he keeps them, it'll be disastrous for the Navy!" He explained, desperation in his eyes. Ket froze upon hearing this. The Navy? Disastrous? But that's exactly what HE wants! How is that bad? Maybe he should let Rebound keep them...

"I... Just get outta here!" Ket ordered, pushing Genu towards the door. Genu hurried to exit, limping out the door as fast as he could. His vision was blurry, and he hurt all over. He needs to find a doctor! But of course, Rebound wasn't going to let him get away that easy.

"NO YOU DONT!" Rebound yelled, pulling a knife out and raising it. He doesn't need to make it bouncy, Genu can't possibly dodge! But before he could throw, the Vice-Admiral felt a pain in his stomach. Ket had shot a roundhouse kick to his gut! Rebound took a winded step back as Ket repositioned, getting into a fighting stance and putting his arms up. By this point, Genu was farther down the hall... Rebound can't hit him!

"You asked who I was?" Ket started, looking back to the escaping Genu with a serious face. Disastrous for the Navy... That sounds promising. VERY promising. He has no idea what's on those blueprints, but if Genu isn't being dramatic, they could be just what he needs to turn the tide on the World Government! But... Genu sounded desperate, like he wouldn't be able to sleep at night if Ket didn't do something... So, even if it'll help his cause... "I'm Ketsuki Ponpu, the captain of the Freedom Fighters. And I'm gonna kick your ass!" He proudly announced, launching a hook punch to Rebound's face! The hit connected, causing the Vice-Admiral to stumble to the side.

"Is that so? I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU TRY!" Rebound snarled, grabbing Ket's arm with both hands. Suddenly, Ket began to glisten! He was beyond confused, as he had no idea what Rebound could do. "Boing-Boing..." The Vice-Admiral muttered, turning around and hurling Ket over, slamming him onto the ground! Ket hit the floor as Rebound released his grip, bouncing back up. Ket was VERY confused; this guy ate a Devil Fruit?! This should be interesting... Unlike when Genu was hit with Rebound's Ricostike, Ket was still glistening. Rebound had used both his hands, and was able to amplify the effect of his power! The Vice-Admiral took a deep breath to suck in his stomach, reeled his tummy back, and thrusted forward! He slammed into Ket with his belly, sending him flying towards the wall! "LAUNCHPAD!"

Ket flew across the room, trying to process what just happened to him. Still, he reacted fast, turning himself sideways and crashing into the wall feet-first. The glisten had worn off after the belly-bounce, causing Ket to turn back to normal. He bent his knees and held his hands above his head, electricity starting to rumble off his arms before jumping off the wall. Ket soared back across the room at a high speed, straight towards the Vice-Admiral. As he launched himself, a spike of electricity covered his hands. "GEN-GEN: DRILLBIT!" He shouted, crashing into Rebound's chest! He spun around while doing so, the electricity swirling off of him like a drill.
