After the battle

After the team had gotten out of their last rough mission Bruce had sent them all down to med bay just so he could check all of them over as a precaution. He doesn't usually do it but this battle wasn't as easy as it usually was, In fact it was really difficult and there was no way no one got out of it unscathed.

After Bruce de-hulked in a quiet room by himself he made his way down to medbay to tend to all of the avengers. Bruce himself didn't need checked at hulk had very quick super healing. He made them all get on a separate bed and started making his way around the room first starting with good ol' cap.

Cap was an easy patient to treat as he usually admitted to any injury he had and he did so with no arguments. Cap only had a small gash on his left arm which was easily treated with a bandage, it didn't need any stitches and any other injury was quite minor and would be easily closed by caps super healing.

Next Bruce moved onto Clint who was also an easy patient to treat he admitted to his injury's most of the time but very rarely hid them. Today was a lucky day as he was upfront about twisting his knee too far in the battle. Bruce helped clint put on a knee brace as well as putting some bruise cream over his knee and told clint that he would have to elevate and ice his injury every few hours for the next day or so.

Bruce then turned to Nat who was a little more difficult to treat but in the end she always knew it was best to just tell Bruce. Nat told Bruce after a back and fourth argument that she landed on her stomach after one of the bots threw her onto the floor when she was on top of a one floor building. Bruce inspected her and told her that she had two broken ribs and had to take it easy over the next few weeks. Told her not to sleep on her side or her stomach and to miss out on the next few missions.

Bruce finally moved on to the person he dreaded the most. Don't get him wrong he loved Tony like a brother, they were sciencebros but Tony was always trying to be cool and collected and show no pain. Bruce wasn't too clear why but he knew it was a giant pain, however hard it may be Bruce always found a way to soften Tony up and he made sure his friend was ok. Bruce walked over to Tony who was standing in-front of the bed but not sitting on it. Bruce instructed his friend to sit on the bed and lie down as it would make it easier to inspect him, Tony gave Bruce a glare and sat down on the bed but made sure not to lie down.

Bruce rolled his eyes and continued to do his initial analysis. He took Tony's pulse and checked over Tony's arms that weren't in his hoodie that was thrown to the side. Bruce then asked the dreaded question "is anything hurting you right now that I need to be aware of?" Of course Tony responded "nope right as rain Brucie bear." Bruce could only roll his eyes again and say "Tony I saw you fall from the sky when your armour stopped working I also saw you get hit many times by the bots, just fess up and tell me the damage I'm here to help not to harm." Tony in that moment kept up his concrete wall but after a prolonged argument from both Bruce and Tony he decided to just rip the bandaid off and tell Bruce " I got hit in the arc." Tony said in a slightly wheezy tone. "I got hit bad, I need a new one but they are up in the lab and I don't think I can go all the way up their." Bruce knew where they were located and went to get a new one not after he put a kind hand to Tony's shoulder for reassurance and a thanks for finally putting down his wall of shame. After a few minutes Bruce came back to Tony still wheezing and coughing lightly. Bruce asked Tony to take off his shirt and when Tony denied Bruce gave him a disapproving look. Tony only said "I don't want anyone touching it but me, I can do it fine anyway." Bruce objected to this idea and said in a plain voice "Tony let me help you, your hands are shaking because it was freezing outside and I don't want you to put it in wrong." Tony only sighed deeply and started to take his shirt off.

Bruce gasped when he seen all the bruising and scaring around the reactor. Tony could only look down at his shoes in fear of what Bruce was going to say. "Tony what happened? It didn't look like this a few months ago when I made you fall asleep and had to change you into your pyjamas. Did someone do this to you." Tony only looked up at Bruce with tears in his eyes and spat out "I can't stand having this thing in my body, every time I look down I'm reminded of the disgusting human I am." Bruce was frozen in shock. He silently helped Tony put in the new reactor and hugged him after doing so. When Bruce didn't let go Tony asked Bruce what he was doing. Bruce said "if you ever feel like this again please talk to me, let me know how your feeling. I would much rather help you through a bad day or night than watch you harm yourself ever again." It was now Tony's turn to be shocked into silence. After a few minutes Bruce looked through a drawer until he found some bruise cream and he put it all over Tony's chest.

After this Tony was actually more open to Bruce in medbay but usually only Bruce any other doctor was dismissed by him immediately.
