i still remember us
young, naive and in love
each showering the other with pretty words and promises
unaware that our happy, carefree days are limited
now, we're nearly unrecognisable
older, wiser and tired
the flattery and uncontainable love we once shared
are now sour words plagued with regret
and although we once swore to forever be together
it turns out that fate has other plans
for you cannot deny the everlasting changes
that pulled us so very far from who we once were
and left behind a broken shell
of what once was
