[F/E] Chapter 1: Prologue

I gasped in hard, trying to breathe in the free time I had, which of course wasn't very much, seeing as I had a literal Giant on my ass.

I rolled left, moving out of the way of a splash of water...no, Poison, seeing as it had melted the earth where I once stood.

I cursed, sending my own beam of water, before charging in, the beam just splashed off of him.

Just as I thought...

If I wanted to kill him, I would need to do it with something else than water, something, harder.

I gripped Riptide, stabbing it into the ground, and locking myself down into the floor, before releasing all of my frustration, all of it from this fight, the frustration in living.

Then the earth started to shake violently, cracks appearing around us, uprooting tree's, and destroying our arena.

I quickly ran towards the Giant, as he was stumbling, while I was unaffected.

I quickly slashed at his arms, and legs, quickly backing away, while Posiedon, came stumbling forward, in his beat up state.

Just as he stabbed Polybotes, the latter, sent a jet of Poison in my direction.

I desperately tried to dodge, but it was much bigger than the others, making my attempts at survival futile, as I was engulfed in a world of.... pain?

I couldn't feel anything, matter of fact, I couldn't see anything either.

Where the hell am I?

Usually, I would have laughed an said, well, I'm in Asphodel, or the Underworld to be more precise, but this wasn't the Underworld, I would know, I had been there a lot, and all of the times, I had very bad experiences.

But this wasn't the Underworld, no, this was... nothing, nothing.... nothing.

I tried to move, desperately trying to find some sign of a human body.

Suddenly, I felt like I was falling, falling very fast, my... well, technically I didn't actually have a stomach, but if I did, it would definitely be churning.

Just then, I could feel things again, the feeling of despair I didn't know I had, left me, as I opened my eye's.

As soon as I did, I was not bombarded in light, in fact, where ever I was, it was dark.

I quickly sat up, and breathed in, taking in a very much needed breathe.

I soon noticed I was in an alley, in some type of city, in a big pile of horrendously smelling trash.

For gods sake, what the hell do these people eat!

I quickly lifted myself up, and out of the pile of trash, and started walking out of the alley, when I froze, I had armor, sure I could shrink Riptide, but not my arm...or?

A group of people walked by, but that's not what I found weird, what I found weird, was that they were all wearing armor, and carrying weapons.

I quickly took in the possibilities, what if the Giants had taken over? What if I was in a enemy camp?

I quickly grabbed Riptide, holding it in my hand, still capped, for a sense of security, that I could do something if worse, came to worse.

As I walked out, I was kind of surprised, there were not only humans with weapons, but... what? Beastmen? Human-animal hybrids? Who knows.

I was honestly surprised, not only by the fact that, basically everyone carried weapons, but that there were also non-humans.

Also, there were stands, shops selling not only food,...but weapons?

I quickly walked out, heading to a shop infront of a store, as soon as I did, a man approached.

"Hello, what may I do fo—"

"Where are we?!" I interrupted the man, very anxious to find out where we were.

The man mumbled something about respecting your elders before looking up and looking at me weirdly.

"We are in Orario, kid," he said, still giving me a look.

I nodded, giving him a thanks before walking away.

Orario, huh, wonder where that is....

I then proceeded th look through my pockets to, hopefully, find some money, but all I did find, were five drachma, which was not a lot in demi-god terms, but if I traded them in for money, I could probably get a pretty penny for them, or, just outright use them directly.

But that was a very low possibility, and I was aiming to not get embarrassed in the middle of a city, for trying to use something else to pay.

I quickly asked another shop owner for directions.

"It's the big tower over there in the middle of the city." They pointed out.

I quickly followed their instructions, heading, for the place called Babel.

Once I got there, let me tell you, it was much bigger in person, like, twice as wide as the emperor state building, but around the same height.

I quickly went in, looking around. It was like a mix of old fashion. It was marble, metal, and glass. Those were the main materials that I could point out.

In front, there was an alignment of receptionists, most already attending someone, while there were a few empty spots here and there.

I quickly approached one in the middle, left of another one, just as I got there, the person there looked up, they had brown hair and hazel eyes, and it was a woman.

"Hello, what may I do for you?"

"I was hoping to exchange these coins?"
I honestly didn't know if they were worth anything, but I sure as hell would find out.

I quickly put the five drachmas on the counter.

Her eyes widened slightly.

"3,000," she said.

I cursed, I had seen the signs of prices while coming here, and most of had a lot of zero's .

"For each." She finished.

Suddenly, my eye's widened, I mean, I knew they had to be worth something, but not that much, I had actually thought three-thousand for all of them was a reasonable price, but for each.

I could only imagine if I had brought my savings with me.... I thought, remembering my light blue piggy bank that was full of drachma's, I was trying to save up to ask a favor from the Hephaestus cabin, but I never got the chance.

I agreed, taking my 15,000.... dollars? No.., what had she said..... oh? Valis, and started to walk backwards.

Suddenly, I heard the door open behind me.

And then, I got hit with the force of a ram and fell with the grace of an elephant, almost managing to gain my balance, but in then end falling down.

I looked back after standing up and saw a white-haired boy, looking back at me with red eyes.

"Sorry." He said, but I brushed it off, saying it back, and offering my hand.

"Thanks."

"No problem."

I then walked out, not before hearing a smack, and a, 'Be more careful bell!' behind me.

I looked back for brief moment.

I feel your pain man...

I then walked off, in search of a hotel.
