Jamie sighed for the hundredth time that night

Jamie sighed for the hundredth time that night. She kept checking her phone to see if Chris texted her back but he didn't. Usually she wouldn't be as pressed for a text back because all she wanted was to fuck, but seeing as she confessed her feelings to him, she was both worried and angry.

Hours passed since Chris left her house and she hadn't gotten a call or text from him. She tried hard not to think the worse but with an unusual mind like hers it was impossible.

Maybe he went for a drive to cool off and decided to sleep at his place tonight.... or maybe he went back to Kyrie. You know men can never leave their baby mama's alone.

Jamie rolled her eyes at the thought. As adamant as he was about never getting back with her, she sort of found it hard to believe that he would do that. They weren't together and despite them not really.... knowing a lot about each other, she loved him. And maybe the love she had for him was enough for him to not be slick like that.

Still it didn't ease her anxiety one bit.

She sent him one more message expressing that she was sorry again and that she missed him, before she heard a loud knock on the door.

"Ugh, I don't wanna get up," she sighed tiredly, running her hand down the side of her face. Her message sent and as she contemplated actually getting up, she heard those same knocks once again. Only this time they were louder.

Hesitantly, she rolled out of bed with her phone and turned her room light off before sliding her house shoes on. She slugishly sauntered out into the hall leading towards the steps. Way in the back of her mind she felt like she should've ignored the door, but still she walked.

Finally making it downstairs she looked around consciously feeling a light chill creep up her spine. With her hand on the locked door knob, she placed her other hand on the door refusing to look into the peephole. "Who is it?" She asked with somewhat of a shaky voice.

I don't know if we should open it girl...

When she didn't get an answer, she asked once more with just a bit of bass in her voice. Her hand trembled against the cold metal wondering just who was on the other side of the door and why were they here so late. It was almost eleven at night—Jamie would be sleep by now if Chris were here. She now found it hard to sleep when she was alone.

After not getting an answer once again, she daringly stood on her toes to reach the peephole, closing one eye to focus on it. She frowned when she noticed her eye looking into the darkness and she jumped when the pounding began again.

"I know you in there, Jamie." She heard.

What the fuck?

She quickly looked around making sure her blinds were closed and majority of her lights were off before she held her phone up to her face to call Chris. She knew exactly who was standing on the side of that door and as much as she wanted to open it and give him a piece of her mind, her slight fear overpowered that.

While the pounding continued, she pressed on Chris' contact hoping and praying that he'd answer. She didn't care how mad he was, she needed him.

"Jamie! Open the fucking door!" He continued knocking. "Let me talk to you!"

Jamie sucked in a quiet breath listening to the ringing tone. It took a while but he picked up answering with a harsh tone.

"What," he spat. Jamie couldn't stop her eyes from watering.

"Where are you?" She whimpered a whisper. "I need you."

"What's wrong baby?"

"He's knocking on my door like a fucking maniac and I'm scared."

"Who?" She heard shuffling on his side. "Baby, I'm on my way. Stay on the phone with me, tell me what he's doing."

With teary eyes and for the next thirty minutes, Jamie stayed on the phone with Chris making sure to be quiet. She couldn't believe that he was still out there making noise. He had long gone stopped knocking and was now talking and complaining about how she should've given her a chance, and how since she didn't that he was going to make her life a living Hell.

Jamie was starting to become anxious and weary the longer she waited for Chris to announce his arrival. It felt like the angels started to sing from heaven once she heard a punch land in the middle of Wes' sentence, followed by Chris' yelling.

"You said you was gonna do what to her? You bitch ass nigga!" His voice his strained.

Jamie quickly sat up from the floor and hung up her phone. Undoing the locks, she opened her door seeing Chris hemming Wes up against the wall by his neck outside of her house. He continously clawed at his wrist trying to choke him back but was unsuccessful.

"I should fucking kill you right now," he seethed, breathing harshly. "When a woman tells you—shows you— that they're not interested, take. The fucking. Hint," he squeezed harder as he talked. "I swear if I see you around her fucking house again it'll be much worse."

"Baby, that's enough," Jamie softly touched his arm feeling bewildered.

At first, he wanted to keep him in this position forever but after looking at Jamie, he slowly loosened his grip dropping his hands from around his neck. Wes doubled over coughing harshly.

"Get the fuck outta here before I shoot you." He took Jamie's hand.

He stood up straight and for the first time he looked Jamie in her eye. She felt herself shrink under his glare. The look in his eye frightened her.

All he could do was glare silently and that alone told Jamie everything she wished she didn't know. This wouldn't be the last time she'd see him. And now seeing the lengths he took just to talk to her, she now needed to be more careful.

After what felt like hours, he finally walked off. Chris watched him making sure he'd disappear and when he did, he lead Jamie into the house and closed the door.

They quietly walked upstairs not knowing what to say about what just happened. Jamie was genuinely shooken up and Chris didn't know what he could say to calm her nerves. But he knew what he needed to do to ensure she'd be safe.

So without another beat, he entered her room going straight into her closet to pick out some clothes for her. He didn't want to take anymore chances.

She was staying with him for a while.
