"Daddy!"

Chris smiled and kneeled down, catching Royalty in his arms for a big hug. Another weekend was among them and Ro had finally landed back in Los Angeles with Kyrie, after their trip to Houston. He didn't realized how much he missed both his daughter and baby mother until they were both standing at his door.

Royalty squeezed her father tight accepting his short love fest before she pulled away and held her teddy bear against her chest. "How was the trip baby girl? You had fun?"

"Yes!" She said excitedly. "I got to see my grammy and Bebe."

"Hmm and what did y'all do?"

"Alot." She giggled.

Chris couldn't help but smile and shake his head. After interrogating her, she ran further into the house in search of her favorite lets, leaving the parents to catch up with each other.

This was truly the first time he'd be seeing Kyrie face to face, and despite the latter he was happy. Before anything she was another one of his best friends and he really hated when they couldn't get along.

He thought that she would show up with more angry words thrown at him, but he was genuinely surprised when she smiled and walked into his arms for a hug. She wrapped her arms around his bag, sighing happily.

"I thought you were mad at me," he mentioned, returning her hug.

"I'm not and I'm sorry." She pulled away enough to see his face. "I missed you."

Chris smiled. "I missed you too.. unfortunately."

"Unfortunately?" He laughed as she rolled her eyes. "You are such a jackass sometimes."

"I know." They stared at each other for a while until Kyrie took the initiative to kiss him. Their lips touched softly for a few seconds, and in that moment Chris had almost forgotten about Jamie.

Kyrie moaned softly, reaching her hands up to run her fingers through his hair. She pushed herself closer into his body while biting his bottom lip. Chris firmly gripped her waist leaning more into her touch before slowly pulling away.

"I gotta tell you something." He opened his eyes again, watching her frown in confusion.

"What's wrong baby?"

Instead of answering, he took her hand leading her into the living room where Royalty was. She sat on the floor immersed with the cartoon playing on the television, with Zeus and Hades laying on either side of her. Chris couldnt help but laugh at them.

He sat down being sure not to interrupt, and took his half empty bottle of water in his hands to drink the rest. Kyrie stood there for a second trying to guess in her mind what it was that he possibly wanted to talk about.. but nothing crossed her mind.

She went ahead and straddled his lap, sitting her hands on his shoulders. After finishing the rest of his water Chris tossed the bottle behind him, hearing it land on the floor. He licked his lips figuring out how to tell her about Jamie. Kyrie was going to be pissed either way and that was what had him kind of nervous. He accepted that she was selfish when it came to him, and even though she practically gave him permission to fuck who he wanted, he knew she was still about to feel some type of way.

Kyrie gazed into his eyes, trying to read his mind. She was beyond curious by now. Although deep down she knew — or had a hunch of what it may be — Ky tried not to think about it. In denial was her best suit because she didn't want to come to terms with it.

Even after Chris suddenly spat out that he was fucking around with Jamie, she still didn't want to come to terms with it. She didn't want to believe it. She didn't think he'd actually mess around with another. And while a piece of her heart felt torn, she smiled anyway and shook her head.

"Do you still love me?" She asked him, tracing her thumb across his lips.

"Of course—"

"Then I," she leaned in to whisper. "don't give a fuck. You're still mine."

Chris frowned. This was not how he wanted this to go. He told her in hopes to end their fling and focus on the wellbeing of their child, but of course, Kyrie had to make things difficult. If this was maybe a year ago, her eagerness to keep him would have turned him on but now he felt like it was really time to end it. There was no hard feelings but he couldn't keep up the same toxic pattern with her. He craved something new, and he had a feeling Jamie could give him that.

She already has.

Kyrie tried kissing him again but Chris turned his head to the side. She laughed in disbelief. "Are you serious, Chris? Really?"

"We can't keep doing this back and forth shit no more Ky. I'm done with it."

"Oh, so you spend one little cute weekend with her and now you love her?"

"That's not what I said—"

"She adds you to her list of dummies she fucked and burned, and now you 'can't do this anymore'?" Ky continued, crossing her arms in anger. "I should fucking punch you in your face."

Chris sighed and shook his head. "You got a right to be angry, I guess, but you know we're not good for each other. This was never gonna get as far as us fucking and you knew that."

"And you think you and her will?" She laughed and rolled off of him to stand up. "Wow."

He watched her grab her purse and keys with a shaking head. "Have fun with your daughter, Chris."

She left his house without another word.

Well... at least that's over...
