"Are you sure you don't want me to come with you?"

"Yeah baby, this won't take long."

Chris leaned over the armrest letting Jamie kiss him softly. She rubbed the side of his face lovingly. His hand ran up her thigh, sending shivers down her spine when he squeezed it.

Jamie was the first to pull away with a smile. "I love you."

"I love you too baby" he couldn't help but smile. "I'll bring you back some food if it takes too long."

"You better bring me some anyway! We're hungry and we don't like when papa stalls." Jamie rubbed her belly with a pout.

Chris looked down, smiling more. Their day was rather busy today. They first went to an OBGYN to confirm their thoughts of Jamie being pregnant. She was almost three months along and all though they both figured she was, they were still trying to wrap their mind around it. Chris was excited and Jamie was.... well happy, but her fear of failing as a mom overpowered that. It had her thinking of all of the things she had done before settling down with Chris.

She thought about if she had a girl, what could she try to tell her, try to teach her, without being deemed a hypocrite. How could she raise her to be a 'proper woman' if she wasn't an ideal one herself. Just knowing that she was going to be an official parent made her uneasy about her past... now more than ever.

He reached down placing his hand on top of hers before kissing her again. "I got you baby."

She blushed softly. He let his touch linger a little longer before he stepped out of the car, quickly heading inside of the restaurant.

As expected, Kyrie sat at the far end table scrolling lazily on her phone. She looked up when Chris sat in front of her. He took his time looking at her. She pissed him off, yes, but she was still the mother of his child. It was always gonna come natural for him to worry.

The air was silent and quite tense. Chris took the time to look at her, trying to figure out what she was thinking. Kyrie was hard to read nowadays, but what did he expect?

She let out a soft sigh feeling his eyes on her. "What is it, Chris?"

"Just wondering when you're gonna come talk to your child."

"Are you fucking serious?" She didn't bother hiding her frustration. "I wouldn't have lost contact if you didn't take her away from me!"

"You'd think I'd let her stay there after that bullshit you pulled?" He frowned. "Why would  I be okay with my daughter calling another nigga daddy? Are you that fuckin dense?"

Kyrie rolled her eyes. "It wasn't even like that."

"Then what was it like? Huh? What the fuck was it like?"

She had nothing to say. Chris sat back in the chair and scoffed. "I don't feel like going back and forth with you. Are you gonna come see your daughter or not?"

"Are you gonna let me see my fucking daughter?"

Chris sighed heavily and rolled his eyes. "You know where I stay, and you know my number. I don't have time for this shit."

He stood up and turned to walk away. Kyrie scoffed and laughed bitterly.

"Of course. Run like you always do, like it's not your fucking fault everything happened. Fucking coward."

"Whatever."

Chris headed straight to his car, sliding inside silently. Jamie looked at him from her phone, pouting when she saw his angered expression.

"It didn't go well did it?"

He sighed and started the engine, pulling off quickly. It was silent for a quarter of the ride until he slowed down at a red light and looked over at her.

"I'm not taking no more advice from you."

Jamie frowned. "It was that bad?"

"It's Kyrie." He deadpanned. "You knew it wasn't going as you might've hoped."

"Right..." He placed his hand on her thigh. "Well at least you tried."

He nodded, clenching his jaw. "Whatever happens, Ro will be straight either way. I know you don't think you're that perfect mother figure in her life, but you are. She doesn't cling to you for nothing baby. She loves you and for that, I love you more and more."

She cooed, taking his face. "You're so sweet papí." She placed a lingering kiss on his lips. "I love you more."

"Now stop fucking doubting yourself. You're already a great mommy." Jamie instantly frowned.

"How did you—"

"I know everything." He softly smiled, preparing to drive off. "You have nothing to worry about—I'm here."

She blushed and clutched his hand.
