Festival Fun
You can say thank you at least..
Hearing that made Chris scoff shortly before he laughed. Jamie only stared at him, arms still crossed, expectantly. She was serious and she didn't care at all.
"Thank you for what? You ain't did this for me, you did this for the kids." He fixed his hat over his head. "I ain't gotta say shit to you."
Jamie twitched her eye at him but before she could say anything Royalty interrupted their pending argument.
"Thank you for this, Miss Jamie!" She surprised Jamie by hugging her waist. "You're so nice!"
"You're so welcome, bebé," she chuckled and hugged her back. It was then that Chris finally noticed her thick Spanish accent. "I ordered our tickets online so we don't have to wait in line with everyone else."
"Yay!" The girls cheered. A hint of a smile crept on Chris' face. "I can't wait to get on all the rides!"
"Me neither!"
Jamie grinned sweetly. "Me three!"
"Daddy, you getting on the rides too aren't you?" Ro gave him puppy dog eyes. He wasn't planning to, but how could he say no to his baby girl?
"Of course.. I want you to pick the fun ones though."
Ro smiled and nodded. After Jamie passed out the tickets they all began heading inside. Chris hung back with her while the kids took the lead, looking around and pointing at any potential rides.
Jamie attempted to make amends once again. "I think we got off on the wrong foot..."
He looked at her with a frown while stuffing his hands inside of his pockets. Even then, he still didn't reply.
"I'm sorry for almost stabbing your friend," she continued. "I'm sorry for threatening you, and I'm sorry for what happened at the park, okay? But you're not about to sit here in my presence and be a complete jackass to me. Not in front of the kids, and definitely not while I'm paying for this to happen." A heavy sigh left Jamie's lips. "The least you can do, if not forgive me, is pretend like we're okay for them."
She quickened her speed, leaving Chris behind so she could hold the girls' hands while they walked around. Chris shoved his hands in his pockets slightly rolling his eyes. He knew she was right. He just didn't want to admit it.
Just get over it. It's Sage fault any fuckin way.
Maybe they would never be friends but now knowing that their kids knew each other, they had to be cordial at least when in their faces. Chris didn't like the thought of his daughter seeing him arguing or getting upset, which was partially the reason why him and Kyrie were no longer together. He knew how it felt and he knew how it affected him when he was younger.
Just with that thought in mind, he caught up to them as they stood in line for their first mini rollercoaster ride.
"I'm gonna take it easy on you guys this time. We're doing the kiddy rides first." Jamie said to them, taking a step forward with the kids standing by her side.
Royalty groaned. "But I'm a big girl!"
"Yeah, me too!" Her friend, whom Chris still hadn't learned the name of, spoke in agreeance.
Jamie laughed. "And I believe you two, but the conductors may not see that so I have to take you to the kiddy ones just in case."
"Fine."
Chris grabbed Jamie's arm, gently pulling her back towards him. She turned around and crossed her arms with a look of confusion.
"You right," was all he said.
He joined Ro and her friend in line leaving Jamie to shake her head.. a hint of a smile appearing on her lips.
