"Not bad," I told KJ and (y/n) after their lessons. "You two are getting better."
(Y/n) stuck her tongue out at me. "Better? We're freaking awesome! Right KJ?" The daughter of Eris didn't seem to be listening. Her hood was up, and she seemed to be listening to something besides the conversation.
(Y/n) sighed and yanked the earbuds out of the older girl's ears, revealing that she'd been listening to very, very, very loud music.
"Hey! Couldn't you have waited until the guitar solo was over?! That's the best part!" KJ grabbed for the headphones, but (Y/n), being smaller and quicker than her, held them out of reach. "Answer the question!"
"Yes, you two ladies," KJ said, the comment thrown at me and (y/n), her voice rimmed with irritation. " You're both very pretty. Now give me back my earbuds!" She lashed out at (y/n)'s hand, her fingers finally closing around the cords of the listening device, plugging her ears stubbornly.
I sighed. "Girls. So immature."
"Who are you calling immature?!" (Y/n) pouted and crossed her arms like a child. It was cute, really, the way she acted like a ten year old when she wanted something. In this case, it was probably an apology.
"Sorry," I finally said.
"Ok. Apology accepted." She smiled, like it wasn't a big deal.
I sighed again. "Remind me why I hang out with you again?"
"Because you love me," she said jokingly. But she turned pink, like it was partially true. I found myself smiling, but my face felt like it was on fire as well.
Because it was too true.
