And if it's too late, I understand
Sometimes, it's too late to make amends
Just hear me out before you let it go....

Today was Friday, meaning it was the last day of work and the beginning of the weekend.
God, knows I love my students but, 5 days straight with a bunch of snotty nose, cry baby ass first graders is exhausting. It was now 3:50pm, and school let out about 45 minutes ago.

I have one student left that needs to be picked up, then I can go on about my day. This was usually our schedule, Harmoni was always the last to be picked up for the most part.
Given that her dad was a single father, I gave him the pass of running behind. I know it can't be easy trying to balance everything while, raising a child all on your own.

Harmoni

"Ms. Kash" a soft voice spoke, knocking me out of my thoughts. Giving how much time we've spent together, and her father and I's history we're on a first name basis.

"Yes, Harm" I asked giving her my full attention.

"How come you don't come over me and daddy's house anymore?" she questioned. Leaving me confused on how to give her an explanation that she'll understand.

Instead, of giving her a straight answer.
I countered her question with a question.

"Did you ask your dad?" I asked causing her to look up from her coloring book.

"Yes, he said that he was being bad. And you put him in time out like when I'm being bad"

"Yea, I had to put your dad in big people's time out. Since he don't know how to act" I explained. Feeling myself become annoyed, thinking about his bald headed ass.
