First I just want to say thank you SO much for 44 views. I know it does not seem like a lot at all, but quite a few people have been reading, so I'm updating. Would love feedback and comments. Want to get better at writing!! Also, I didn't update earlier because typing was NOT working. Hope I make it up to you guys with a very long chapter. Pic of chapter is the beautiful Katie Hall, Tess, Cosette in Les Mis. She is blonde and blue-eyed if you can't tell from the picture.

Years ago, Metias taught me how to get out of almost any situation. His overprotective qualities will come in handy today. This one is the trickiest. Held captive by Day, my Day, my Daniel. The emotional ties are enough to cloud my judgement. Logic, June. Logic. Day is not stupid. The rope is not thick and easy to untie, or thin and easy to snap. Think, June, think. What did you do when Metias tested you? He must of done something like this. There must be something, anything. Then I see it. A glass vase on the table. Who put it there? Probably was set up with the new apartment. I carefully lean against the couch and sweep the vase off of the table away from me with my boots. When I see the shattered glass, a thought starts to disrupt my thoughts, of a shattered vase and sun-shaped wrinkles on a cloth. FOCUS! Scooting backwards until I'm at the edge of the pile of shattered glass, I pick up a large piece, careful to keep my hands at the middle of the piece to not cut myself. As I cut the rope, I think. Why did Day talk about Commander Jameson? Hasn't she been forgotten as much, if not more than me? He said Commander Jameson told him something, but how could she? What in the world are his dreams about, what do they mean? My mind floods with thoughts.

"Careful, Iparis, you might end up just like me.""I knew you couldn't do it alone." "My ghost will be laughing at you from hell."

I get so preoccupied that I barely realize I've cut the rope and cut my wrist. Focus on the task at hand June! I quickly untie the ropes holding my feet together, my hands shaking. I run back to my apartment. I'm so confused. Again, nothing is logical, nothing makes sense. Except I know Day's in trouble. There's no way he'll be thinking straight with Eden's life on the line, and Antarctica's not going to be happy with losing Eden. And all the Antarctican medical students are at risk. If what I read was true, the students will have to cure themselves before they die. It's a pass, or fail. Plus, if we-I, am too late, the students will be too weak to think of a cure, too weak to do anything. When I get there, Tess is at the door.

"Daniel called me, saying something about you. I couldn't understand it."

"I don't understand much at the moment, but Day's in trouble, we need a whole lot of cures, and a way to get into the Antarctica hospital medical school level."

"He said something about Commander Jameson?"

"He said Commander Jameson told him I'm evil and am obsessed with him being in emotional and physical pain."
