Where a boy shows up
It's midnight. It's a very calm night. The sky is so dark and it's really so clear that it goes on infinitely. There's a lot of stars shining and a crescent moon is placed high in the sky. You don't feel very calm though. Inside you a lot is rumbling, thoughts are tumbling and your body feels tired. You still feel overwhelmed and don't how to fix it. Normally you know exactly how to fix things but now that only seems to make things worse. You sigh. 'Is that a sigh I hear?' you hear out of nowhere. Your heart jumps and you look over the edge of the balcony where you've been sitting. There's a boy standing in the dark in a hoodie. Honestly it's a bit scary because you can't see his face. 'Wait, I'm coming up!' he says and he grabs onto the water pipe along your house and begins climbing it like a monkey. Ridiculously quick he's at your balcony and jumps over it. Secretly you find yourself very attracted to his strength and flexibility but you keep it together. 'Excuse me? Who are you and what are you doing here?' The boy takes off his hood and the angel eyes look straight into yours. That was predictable. He seems to think so as well. 'You know who I am. We had eye-contact. And I brought you something.' Out of nowhere he has a bouquet of white daffodils in his hand. 'My favorite flower!' you exclaim before remembering this all is very strange. 'But seriously, how did you come here?' He shrugs, like he really doesn't remember. And he seems so innocent you just go along with it. (There's nothing scary gonna happen guys. This is just a very very soft story.)
You invite him in for tea because that's the only thing you can come up with to do in this situation right now. After you both sit down across your table with a cup of camille tea and he plays with your tarot cards, he asks you 'so how are you?' Taken aback, you don't know what to answer. It doesn't make any sense that this stranger asks this or even cares about it. 'Pretty good, I guess' you say. 'Oh really? You looked tired before, you know, in the McDonalds..' You find it all very weird but the honesty in his voice makes you do something unexpected, you actually begin to talk. You talk about how overwhelmed you've been feeling lately and how it's so hard to juggle everything in your life at once. How you're still very stressed about the conflict you've had with a friend a few weeks ago and you've still not talked it out. How a teacher put you down so much and told you you should quit your studies. How you've been more irritated at your mom lately who doesn't deserve that at all. How you want everyone in your life to be happy but that it's just so hard to make yourself happy too. Before you know it tears are coming down your cheeks and falling in your tea. 'I'm sorry, I don't want to make this weird' you say while snot is coming out your nose. 'Shhh, it is very hard. It is very overwhelming. It's not weird that you feel like you're struggling. It's not weird that you don't feel your happiest right now.' He says in such a calming voice you feel soothed. Normally you get very irritated when people try to soothe you, like you're less than them. You know damn well that you can handle your business. You can do everything you set your mind to. Now it just doesn't seem that way. And you just let his kindness come over you. 'I'm actually really tired.' you say. 'I would like to lay in bed.. err.. do you wanna lay next to me?' you say embarrassed because of how much you want him to lay next to you and hold you.
