Phantoms POV
—————————
I sat down, near the mattress, against the wall. I was petting Clouds fur as she slept with Nate, to keep myself calm. I have never told anyone about the protector situation but, telling Nate was the best thing for me. I needed to tell him eventually, because he deserves to know. Just incase if there is was a situation where he needs a new protector. Anyway, not to get depressing, don't really want that, Nate and Cloud was sleeping peacefully. But peacefully for Nate was, his face was scrunched up as if he was in pain. I don't think he was sleeping soundly. His head must be killing him, not physically! So with our connection being so strong, and our mind link, I'm able to talk to him through his dream. "Nate? Are you doing okay? Does your head hurt that much?" His face relaxed a little as he heard my voice from his dream. I smiled. He always said my voice and my presence was always, like protecting and relaxing."I-I don't know. My head hurts so bad! I want to wake up!" I can't wake him. Our bond is not that strong yet. I gently placed my hand on his hair, to gently play with it. Matt told me that if anything happens to just play with his hair, it calms him down.
"Nate, you know I can't wake you. Our bond isn't that strong yet. You just have to wait it out. It's only been 20 minutes. You need a lot of sleep to help with this migraine. Got it?" He was freaking out. But it's true. He needs the sleep. And I didn't get a reply after that. So I didn't think much of it and closed my eyes.
I woke up and looked at my phone for the time and it's been a couple hours. I look over and Nate is awake and just cuddling Cloud. "Hey. How you feeling?" I asked him. He didn't look at me and I nudged his shoulder.
"I heard you. It hurts like a son of a gun. It's not getting better." I sighed and closed my eyes. I didn't see anything. So it was the migraine still. He can't take anymore medication for it which sucks. Cloud laid on top of him, as he was starting to shiver. I raised an eyebrow, now concerned if he has a fever. I bring my hand to his forehead and it's a bit warm, but I'm still concerned.
"I'm going to go get the guy. I'll be back." I went to get up but he grabbed my hand. "I'll be right back. I just need him to come check your temperature. And then might need a trip to the doctors." I said softly and played with his hair. He calmed down enough to release his grip and I went to the door. "HELLO?" I shouted. I tried the door and it was locked. Of course it would be. I went down a few stairs incase he comes to the door, but I don't hear anything.
"Yes?" I hear through the door. He opened it and I pointed down the stairs.
"Your 'pet' is now like running a fever. Can you please go check his temperate?" I asked in a nice voice, I don't want to sound mean incase I get in trouble.
"I'll go get the thermometer. Stay put. I mean it." I nodded and then he left. I leaned close to the railing of the stairs and I looked down. I felt really bad. "Let's go." I jumped and looked behind me. He stood there and we went downstairs and Cloud was there, pawing at his leg, arm and chest. I ran over, kneeling down and turned him toward me.
"Nate, talk to me. What's happening?" His anxiety was high. "Cloud, go get the bag." I told her. Cloud got up and ran up the stairs. "Hey, it's your anxiety. Your okay, Cloud is getting your medicine so that you can take it. Everything's just fine." I told him. Cloud came back with the bag. I opened it and grabbed his emergency anxiety medicine. The guy gave me the water and I gave Nate his medicine and the water. "Now let's wait for this to kick in. What was the temperature?" I looked at him and then Nate. Cloud got back on the bed and cuddled up with Nate as the guy looked at me.
"101. It's climbing. I'm going to make an appointment with my doctor, he's more comfortable with working with my dynamic. So I'll be back." I nodded and he left.
