In Riverdale the weather was cold, not to say the least dark.
The street was empty, and cold, almost unwelcoming everyone that wanted to say in town for a day or two. The light that once was in town, was switched off, and instead, screams and laughter from Ghoulies moved around in the town, showing that at night time, it was their time.
At day time, the streets were full of people, going on with their normal stuff, going to school or work. But one person wasn't doing it, Toni Topaz wasn't to see no places in Riverdale anymore.
Toni Topaz had been through a lot, like most of the people in Riverdale had over the last couple of years. But she had on top, lost two of her best friends.
Toni was there when Sweet Pea was buried.
Toni was there when Ella was in a coma for weeks
Toni was there when the ghoulies overtake the wyrm. Beating the shit out of people, escaping with her life in a thin threat.
And Toni was there, when her grandmother died, of a fever.
To say the least. Toni Topaz had seen it all and was heartbroken, none to say the least. Now Toni was all alone, with no friends or family that would take care of her.
On a rainy morning in Riverdale, Toni walked through the heavy rain with an umbrella over her head, she was heading all the way to SWeet Pea's grave, which was by Sweetwater River, right at the spot where they had met each other even they were kids. The 20-minute walk was enough to take Toni back to the time when they were little, and back to even everything was much better, than it was now.
: Flashback --> 10 years earlier:
" Wait for me!" Ella yelled as the trio ran to Sweetwater River. Toni and Sweet Pea, were already by the water, laughing as Ella fell to her knees, crying out for them Toni stopped, gently walking up to her.
" You okay, Ella?" Toni yelled as she looked at the black-headed that had tears running down her cheeks, her hand pressing on the cut on her knees.
" It hurts, Toni" Ella cried, as she straightened her arms out, as a sign to hug her, and that was what Toni did. Wrapping her small arms around Ella's slim body. Toni knew what was going on in the house of the Jone's. How FP would drink, and how her mother wasn't there.
Even at the young age that they all were, she still knew what was right and wrong, but what was there to do about it?
" Sweet help me~" Ella cried over Toni's shoulder, as she locked eyes with him, resulting in him laughing at them.
" Why do you always have to be such a baby?"
" Why are you such a smart ass all the time? HELP. HER. UP!" Toni fully yelled, making Sweet Pea's jaw drop, if a person's yaw could fall off his yaw, he would probably have done that.
" I fucking hate you, Pea!" Ella yelled as she hopped on her leg, away from Toni and Sweet Pea.
" I hate her too," Sweet Pea whispered under his breath, still he smiled all over his face, as he ran up to her side, helping her.
Toni followed behind them both, till they were at Pop's dinner.
: Flashback --> end:
Toni's mind was on a railroad, laying still, waiting to see when the train would arrive, maybe even die? she didn't know, the only thing, being that she was seeing Sweet Pea's grave and that it was beautiful even though it was raining down on her.
" Hi, Pea!" Toni said as she walked to the grave standing over it, looking at the words that were engraved on the stone. Moving her hand, on the stone, she smiled. The only thing that would bring her a little smile on her lips.
" Tomorrow it is your birthday. We had plans. You, me and Ella would go to pop's and eat, then crash at your place, seeing a movie or so" Toni smiled. " It is the first year that we won't be together, it is fucking hard and difficult that you aren't here, and will never come back. I miss you, Pea. Please.... please.... come back to me....."
Toni stayed at Sweet Pea's grave until she had no more tears left in her, and the rain stopped falling down around her, cutting the depressing atmosphere, that was surrounding her.
" I gotta go, Pea. I'll be back tomorrow" Toni said, kissing her hand and laying it on the stone, as she turned to walk back to her depressing state, and back to the rabbit hole, that she call home. Riverdale.
Walking through the night in Riverdale, every house was dark, a few cars were still on the road, but most people had seared into their houses, not wanting to meet a ghoulie on the street. As she walked past Pop's Toni spotted something familiar sitting by a table. Squeezing her eyes together, Toni was shocked. Forgetting everything else, Toni ran to the door of the dinner.
POV ELLA
" It is so good to see you back in town," Mrs Matle said, as she and the rest of the family were gathered around Ella. After a long day on the road, Ella and Christan arrived a little bit earlier than they had expected, not to anyone care about it. Ella had driven to the apparent, then turned right up the Mantle's house.
Everyone was so happy that she was back. Reggie hadn't taken his eyes off her, since she stepped foot in the house, and Ella could feel it.
" It is good to be home, but mom, I'm h-" Ella said, that made everyone at the table look at her, Ella confused looked at them, to realise what it was she just had said out loud to them all, feeling anxiety spread in her stomach, Ella's eyes dropped to her thighs.
" I'm sorry, I didn-"
" No Ella, it is fine," Mrs Mantle said, placing her hand on Ella's cold hand, which was still on her lap.
" What will you even be doing, now that you are back in Riverdale?" Reggie asked, grabbing the glass of milkshake.
" I wanna find out, who kill Sweet Pea, and put me in a coma for weeks," Ella said, looking straight into his eyes, that were locked on her "but I'll need some help to do so" with those words, the doorbell when off, Ella looked at the door, to see a girl with purple hair.
" Ella?" the purple head girl, said, as she step up to the booths that the Mantle was in.
" Toni?"
" You're back"
" I always come back, one way or another, Toni," Ella said, standing up from the table, pulling Toni into a hug. The two friends, stood finally together again, after such a long time, the best part, that both of them wanted to know, what had happened that day.
