Maya's POV:
She had to wake up, she will wake up, right? I can't live without her, I felt as if I was dying right now and she was alive but hurt. Seriously hurt. What if she didn't make it, she kept coding, what if her heart just gave up, I would lose her, she liked Jack, Jack liked her and I loved her, but I'm in a relationship with Carina. I have to tell her how I feel.
Sitting in silence, I couldn't break it, so we sat in quiet, but it felt deafening, we were told we could go into her room to sit with her. Travis and Vic went in, Jack stood outside and I sat in the chair in the waiting room collecting myself so I didn't break down when I saw her. Taking deep breathes, I tried to calm myself, Jack put his arm on my shoulder as we both walked in.
Lara laid in the bed asleep, with all these wires poking out of her and surrounding her with a nasal canula in. "Hey Lara it's Vic, please wake up for us, we love you, we need you. Be okay, we haven't called your siblings yet, do you want us to? Wake up and tell us." Vic ranted tears threatening to spill, everyone was in or near tears.
The silence felt overwhelming, until it was interrupted by the increased beating of her monitors, I swung my head round and saw Lara opening her eyes and trying to cough. Dr Wilson came back in and jumped into action, she sat her bed up a little bit, and slowly slid the tube out, holding Lara's hand.
"Mhm.. What.. Happened." She slurred still coming round, coughing between words. "The Aid car crashed, you got thrown out." Travis explained to her as she just slowly nodded, "My head hurts, it feels fuzzy." She whispered and Jo nodded, a few minutes later Amelia came in. "Hey Miss Dean, I'm Dr Shepherd. I heard your head hurts." She came in.
After examining her, she looked conflicted, "Do you know you've had a few seizures recently? Have you been diagnosed with epilepsy?" Lara shook her head, we knew where this was going. "I'd like to get an E.E.G done, to test for epilepsy, I'll get an intern to come get you in an hour to meet me there okay?" She explained to which Lara nodded simply.
"Maya, are you okay? Did our patient make it?" She freaked out, questioning me, "I'm fine, a few scrapes and bruises but other than that I'm fine. Invincible remember?" I joked, "As far as I know they discharged her." Lara nodded closing her eyes, Jack sat by her side with Travis and Vic, I went to go get coffee from the cafeteria and to find Carina.
"Bambina, are you okay!?" Carina called after me freaked out after seeing the stitches on my forehead. "Aid car crashed. I'm oka-" I began to explain but was interrupted by her kissing me on the lips, "Bella, are you sure?" She asked holding my hands. "I am. Lara's not though, I'm here visiting her now." I sighed paying for the coffees.
Carina kissed me on my temple, pulling me into a hug, I felt guilty even though I didn't cheat, but I like another woman who is not my girlfriend. "Ti amo mi bambino." She whispered in my ear, I nodded 'I love you baby', I loved her to, I think, but I love Lara. "Mi dispiace cosi tanto piccola devo andare ti amo." I whispered walking away from her.
Leaving her standing there, probably confused as to my sudden departure, I had to explain to her soon, but I'm scared. My words echoed in my head, the hurt I said them with, 'I'm so sorry baby I have to go, I love you.' What if those words hurt her, she thought she did something, it was not her fault, but mine, I can't tell Lara.
Jack is my friend, and I like the person he's in love with, I mean it's obvious. He wouldn't leave her side, he freaked out when she's in the hospital, it was obvious to everyone around them. I think Lara had the mutual feeling, I wish she loved me, like I love her. Walking back into Lara's room I was met with Jo, Travis, Vic and Jack all laughing surrounding Lara.
"I bought coffee for everyone except for Lara." I called to them and everyone said thank you taking one and we had a conversation about random things. "Lara I need to ask you a question." Jack randomly came out with, "Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked, the silence was thick with tension. "Si, yes!" Lara squealed, my heart shattered in that moment.
