My mind feels heavy-
My heart weary,
I'm tired.
So tired.
It seems as though
Each time I try to get through to you
There's a castle wall I'm unable to crack,
Resulting in being pushed away once more.
I try to be with you.
I want to be with you,
But I'm not sure if I'm even on your mind.
They're just friends.
I know, yet when I see you with them
My heart breaks just a little more each time.
With them, you laugh-
You mess around.
But with me,
It doesn't seem as carefree.
Sometimes,
I feel like you're ashamed of me.
Maybe I wasn't all I thought I was to you.
Maybe I'm just not for you.
Yet I hold onto an ounce of hope,
As my weary heart continues to fall,
My mind filled with thoughts that jitter about;
All that I know is even when you're with someone else,
My aching soul will continue to love you.
