I breathed in deeply, pausing outside of the doors to the school building. It'd been 2 weeks since the blackout incident and i was finally back at school.

I know, two whole weeks sounds a bit much but my overprotective dad thought it sounded like not enough. Of course. That man drove me crazy sometimes.

The weirdest thing though, was Lucas. My cheeks heated up as I remembered the almost-kiss and my heart darkened with sadness. Ever since then, he'd been avoiding me with the skill of a ninja.

The only time i ever saw him now was at dinner, where the only ones who spoke were Drehy and the twins. Sophie stopped coming to dinner to, and i hadn't been seeing much of her either.

It felt like everyone was avoiding me these days. Even my father, who'd thrown himself into work, wasn't talking to me much anymore. I felt so unwanted.

Dad was going to make me stay out of school even longer, but i protested venomously. I needed to see Amy and Scott. I needed some normalcy and routine. I hated just being home, isolated from the rest of the world.

The cold winter wind blew around me and i wrapped my jacket tighter around my sides, tucking a strand of wildly whipping hair behind my ear.

I took a deep breath, pulling open the door
