Link was getting anxious. They had been aboard the ship bound for Akkala for a little over 6 hours and the wind had picked up, causing the ship to rock to and fro. He felt uneasy and would admit that he never liked ships much. It was loaded to maximum capacity with goods, munitions and men. On top of the three champions and Groose, there was the ships crew of 20 men and 300 resistance soldiers packed into the hold like sardines. Link took the time to look through his inventory in the slate and noticed that he and Mipha were almost broke. 300 rupees is all that remained of the funds he had set back.
Mipha came up to her lover who was looking over the port side railing and rested her head on his shoulder. She could sense his unease.
"Worried?" She asked in a soft voice.
"I don't know." Link answered. "I can't help but to feel like this whole thing is a trap."
"It could be. We must be on our guard." She responded. "We have eachother, we will protect one another."
Link smiled at her and kissed her forhead. They had come this far but they hadn't faced anything this grand yet. Link knew this was going to be THE largest battle any of them had ever experienced and once again, they and their men would be largely outnumbered.
"Be prepared to see horrific sights when we get there." Link swallowed. "They've been besieged for 3 weeks non-stop."
"I'm ready to do whatever I can to help." Mipha nodded. "I am not afraid. Not with you by my side."
They held hands for a good while as they watched the sun set over the flowing ocean horizon. A sailor was busy inspecting the deck canons and accidently bumped into Link.
"My apologies sir!" The sailor snapped to attention.
"It's alright, let us get out of your way." Link bowed as he took Mipha by the hand again. "Let's head below deck and try to get some rest. The ships captain said it's about an 18 hour trip. We're a long ways away."
They being persons of rank were some of the lucky ones that had a cabin reserved for them. Urbosa and Groose had their own separate ones and Link and Mipha were put in one together. There was a small table made from a barrel inside with two stools, a chest of drawers for belongings and a very uncomfortable looking bunk bed.
"Humble." Link joked as he sat his pack down at the foot of the bunk. "Top or bottom?"
"I will take the bottom if you don't mind." She answered.
Link climbed up to the top bunk and kicked his boots off. He hoped he'd actually be able to get some sleep with the rocking.
"Link?" Mipha asked quietly. "Do you think we'll have to fight anymore of those knights in black armor?"
"It's a good possibility" Link answered. "Why?"
"I wonder where they came from. They look like they were Hylians once." Mipha responded thoughtfully.
Link had never gave it much thought before. He knew all that he needed to know he thought. They serve Ganondorf and they must be destroyed. "I haven't really though about it it be honest." Link asnwered. "Whoever they may have been. They seem to be long gone at this point."
"You are probably right... I just can't seem to stop wondering... who ......." She drifted off to sleep before she could finish her sentence.
"Goodnight my love." Link whispered as he too closed his eyes and hoped to join her in slumber. The rocking was starting to subside a bit meaning the wind had likely calmed. Link still couldn't shake the bad feeling that Ganondorf was purposely gathering them in one location to eliminate them all in one swift action. He didn't like it but, it was too late to turn back now and the war hinged on holding the citadel.
