The first rays of sunshine filtered through my window. Birds sang on the tree that was right outside, waking me up with a jolt. I glance around through blurry and unfocused eyes. I had always been a light sleeper. In my line of profession, you have to be or you wind up dead.
"Welcome to the world of the living." a bored voice rang through my small room.
I turn to see Dabi leaning up on the wall that was right beside the door. I roll my eyes and stumble to my feet. Grabbing some clean clothes that I had in my small closet I hurried to the kitchen. I grabbed myself some cereal, I looked in the tiny fridge and sigh, Mom forgot to go to the store again. We're out of milk. I'll have to go after school. I'm already behind on my projects. I don't have TIME for this. I sit down at the table staring down at my food. I slowly began to eat as Dabi sat down heavily in a chair. I notice the bags under his eyes and raise one of my trimmed eyebrows.
"Were you up all night? I can take care of myself you know."
"Yeah. I know. I just don't want the boss on my ass. If he hears that I fell asleep on the job he'll have my head."
I nod in agreement, understanding immediately what he meant. My father never had been a nice man, knowing him he would kill Dabi if he does not do as he says. Sadly for both of us that includes watching me for the time being. Father really is worried about all of this. The heroes must be close to finding him and the others if it has him THIS worked up. I turn to look at my food, quickly scarfing it down. I threw my empty bowl in the sink, promising myself to clean it up later. Dabi grabs a sweatshirt and pulls up the hood to hide his face. He was a known villain after all and him being out in public without some kind of disguise was not an option. Hurry to school with him trailing me from a distance. Once I reach my regular high school I slip into the halls. People hurry to avoid me as I stomp to class, refusing to meet my sharp gaze. I had a reputation at the school for being a fighter who would beat someone simply for looking at me.
It's not like I wanted a reputation like that, but my father's gang has always been protective of me. Every time there was a bully by the next day they were either hospitalized or too scared to look at me. After that people started to leave me alone. Sighing I walk into class and sit down in my normal seat at the back of the room. With a thud I drop my backpack down onto the ground and slump in my chair.
I wonder if the teacher would mind if I fell asleep. I yawn quietly but am soon wide awake as the door to the classroom slams open. The teacher stumbles in with a dazed look on her face. What the-
"Class! I have a very important announcement!! Today some of the students from MHA in the hero course are coming today!!"
At that the whole class erupts into talking as the students start to digest what she just said. I sigh and shrug, Not like I would care anyways. I turn away from the discussions putting my head down on my wooden desk. Maybe if I slept through the whole thing today would go by faster.
"Izuku Midorya! If you dare fall asleep again young man I will have no choice but to expel you!" Ms. Silver screamed from the front of the room.
Students started to giggle as I rolled my eyes, sitting up and folding my arms against my chest. I sent a death glare in her direction, she flinched but quickly tried to hide it by starting the lesson. It's not that I cared if I got expelled or not, but I need the materials at the school to complete a lot of the so called 'work' that All for One had me doing. I hear a loud bang that shook the whole class. Murmurs ran through the rows of desks and students.
"What was that?"
"Are we under attack?"
"No stupid! Why would a plain high school get attacked by villains? That's just for MHA students!"
"Shhhhh their coming!"
The class grew quiet once again, all eyes trained on the door. I sat bored, knowing EXACTLY what is behind the door. It flew open and a boy with crazy blond hair came crashing in. He glared at something behind him and started mumbling something about 'stupid extras'. His red eyes scan the room before landing on me. I open my hand in a small wave, keeping my face as neutral as possible. He froze making the other two run into him. "Bakugou! Why the heck did you..." Shoto trailed off when his eyes also landed on me. Iida simply smiled and gave me a small wave I in turn looked out the window with a bored look.
"Class I would like you to meet some of the students from MHA! This here is Bakugou Katsuki, Todoroki Shoto and Tenya Iida. They are some of the students from the heroes course! They are going to be around all day so I want everyone to be on their BEST behavior."
She glared pointedly at me which I shrug and give her a smirk.
"I mean you Izuku!"
I roll my eyes and give her a lazy salute.
"Ma'am yes ma'am!"
Some of the students giggle behind their hands, while others glare at me like I was a villain that was about to hurt them. Which actually was not so far from the truth. Shoto and Kacchan made their way to the front of the class and began the long lecture about how important it is to never give up and there are many ways to be a hero, even if one had a weak quirk. Or doesn't have one at all. I felt my eyes close slightly, finally I let sleep take over me, where a memory of something long forgotten decided to resurface.
