The Box in the Wall

I jolt awake, looking around a bit in confusion. Ms. Silver's face was right next to mine, I grunted half in surprise and half in annoyance.

"It done already?"

She sighed and shook her head, "Izuku! You can't keep falling asleep in my class. Especially when those nice young men are trying to explain how hero school works!"

"It's actually quite simple. Take it from someone who has studied heroes for years. It is not THAT hard to train the way they do. If you have a quirk I mean."

Her face grew red the more I kept talking before turning with a huff back up to the front of the class.

"Detention Izuku!"

Her voice screeched at me, sounding more like my mother than I cared to think about. I rolled my eyes once more and leaned back in my chair. All three of my old friends were staring at me with wide eyes. Shoto looked the most shocked at my behavior, back when we were kids this never really happened, I used to be quite the quiet one. The one out of the four of us who had big dreams and places to go. Even when someone got me down I would keep on smiling, not anymore though.

"Ahem, well as I was saying..."

Iida and the others continued to talk until the bell for lunch rang. I sighed in relief, hearing them talk on and on about how they trained and how others with smaller quirks are able to help out in the community, really was boring me. I stand up quickly making my way to the door, ignoring the sound of Bakugou calling my name. I ran my hand through my now short hair. I had shaved the sides, the middle was long and falling almost all the way down my face, framing my eyes. Today I had pulled it up into a pony tail so that I could see better instead of it always falling down in my eyes.

"IZUKU!!!!"

I groan as Toga runs up to me with a crazy smile on her lips. Her school face was actually quite clever. The complete opposite of what she normally looks like. Her brown hair flapped over dark brown eyes. Her uniform covered most of her body, a long skirt rustling around her ankles as she came to a halt, grabbing onto my arm.

"Toga, how many times do I have to tell you? Don't shout my name from across the room! It scares people!"

She simply giggled again, "Oh come on darling! I just like announcing that I am here!"

"Then shout your own damn name!!" I shout at her.

My own voice vibrates through the now empty hallways. Toga simply rolled her eyes, pulling me towards the cafeteria. I sit down at our usual table with a huff while she lands on my lap.

"Toga get your ass off my lap! I swear I will punch you so hard that you will be seeing stars for a week!"

She yelps as I pull back and quickly sits down next to me, knowing that my threats were not bluffs. In the villain world I was feared not only as All for One's son, but also because I keep my promises in the underground. Always.

"You wouldn't believe who I saw today Izu!!" Toga's shrill voice was already starting to give me a headache.

"Toga I already know  the heroes are here..."

"No silly! I saw All Might!!"

I freeze, slowly turning to look at her. She grins cheekily, "What do you MEAN you've seen All Might?"

"He was on school grounds earlier! He was snooping around the back though."

"Shit." I scramble to stand up while Toga stands with me, following closely behind.

"What's wrong Izu?"

"All of my materials that I have gathered, they are hidden in the back. If All Might finds them then we will be in a world of pain. Especially if my father finds out."

Toga groans and begins to walk faster. We soon were able to make it outside of the school. She stood guard while I went to the spot that I always kept my 'tools'. I press my hand against the bricks lining the school. Slowly I move my hand back, a small box dropping into my hand. I opened it slowly to see that all of my materials lay safely inside. I sigh in relief, glancing over my shoulder to see Toga waving frantically at me. I bolted to the shed that was in the far corner of the school grounds. Crouching behind it I watched at Shoto, Bakugou and Iida walked into the clearing.

"Bakugou, do you really think that Midoriya would do something like this? I mean the whole him being a villain thing... It just doesn't fit with the friend that we knew a few years ago."

"Shoto we lost touch with him years ago. From the looks of it he has changed dramatically. The teachers don't even know what to do with him anymore. If he really is a part of this... man I hope he isn't."

"Wouldn't we have to arrest him?"

"Yes Iida. We would, why do you have to be such an extra sometimes?!"

Bakugou groaned as the others followed quickly in his wake, arguing the whole way about who the real 'extra' was. I watch as they run their hands against the wall that I had just gathered my things from. I sigh as they walk past the area that I had hidden my box in.

"Izuku was so different, I wonder what happened to make him act that way." Iida's soft voice drifted to my ears.

I roll my eyes as they start to walk back to the school. I turn to see that Toga had also hidden, watching them through the window of the school building. If looks could kill then they would have been burned to ash by her glare. Once they were out of sight I waited another five minutes before coming out and returning to the school building. I had slipped my box into my backpack, certain that the place it had once been was no longer safe.

"They know. Don't they, about you."

I jump and turn to see Toga standing right behind me with a small smile on her face. I simply nod in response, "We must inform my father. After school I want you to tell him that I must speak to him."

"Is this gonna happen before or after detention?"

Her peppy voice broke through my thought process, "How the heck did you know about that?" Then I shake my head to clear it and deny an answer out of her.

"Never mind, I really don't want to know."

She just giggled as I made my way to class. The anxiety of another thing coming up in my schedule was like a giant stone in my chest. I try to ignore the feeling and sit back in my chair waiting for this day to end.

TIME SKIP

I stumbled into my house with grocery bags in my arms. I started to put everything in their appropriate spots until I felt a presence behind me. I pulled out the knife that I had hidden in my sleeve and whipped around. Ready to kill anyone who dared to sneak up on me in that fashion. All I got was a snort, then my knife was skidding across the floor and a hand was grabbing my wrist.

"Son. I think we need to talk."

My father glared down at me, anger apparent in his gaze. Dabi nearly choked at the appearance of our boss. I nod and slowly make my way to my room, my father following like a giant shadow that was about to swallow me up. I swallow hard, disappearing into the darkness of my room. The door slammed shut and all was quiet.
