Jada (POV)

I was at the grocery store doing a little shopping.

Right now, I was standing in the cereal aisle searching for my Cap'n Crunch when somebody suddenly grabbed my shoulder.

I turned around fast, ready to swing on whoever it was, but it was the guy from the club.

"Hey," he said casually. "What you doing here?" Khaza asked.

I stared at him blankly.

"Um... grocery shopping like a normal person," I replied sarcastically as I walked off to continue shopping.

"Yeah, I kind of figured that."

The way he smiled while licking his lips pulled a feeling out of me, I didn't know was possible.

"So what are you doing here?" I asked.

"Grocery shopping like a normal person." He said.

I rolled my eyes and laughed a little.

"I was hoping I'd see you again." He continued.

"Yea? Why?" I kept my head turned towards the shelves to avoid eye contact. 

"I want to take you out sometime." he said.

I stopped in my tracks. "You haven't been following me, have you?"

"Nah," he said quickly. 

I turned to face him and his mouth hung open before he started to ramble.

"I mean, I-I saw you walk into the store and pulled over. I ain't no-no stalker or nun like that. I just-" 

When he saw me smile, he finally stopped.

"You messing with me, ain't you?" he asked.

"Anyway," I continued, "I really don't have free time to give you."

His expression changed instantly.

"You look free to me right now."

"You don't hear no a lot, do you?"

Judging by his silence, I take it that I was right.

"Aight." he said out of nowhere.

Then-

 he brushed past me and walked away.

Just like that.

I felt bad immediately after.

I wanted to call after him, but I let it go.

I continued grocery shopping and headed for checkout.

Khaza (POV)

I spotted Josh leaving the store, so I cut the conversation short with Jayda. I didn't want to, but business needed to be handled.

I pulled my phone out and called Andre.

"Yo?" he picked up.

"Aye, Andre," I said. "I need you to slide by Josh baby mama house."

"Hold on," Andre said. "What happened?"

"Nigga, where the fuck you been at? The streets are talking about Josh having private meetings with Jamar."

"The fuck wrong with you?" Andre snapped back. "I just asked what happened."

"It doesn't matter. Just meet me there. And switch your plates before you pull up."

I hung up and rushed toward my car.

As I passed by the store windows, I noticed Jada watching me from inside.

Our eyes locked for a second.

Then I pushed down on the gas and sped off.
