Me and Andre walked into Club Green Door and headed straight for the VIP section. The music was shaking the whole building.
Soon as we stepped inside, I spotted Ron, Beezy, Munchie, Killa, and my brother Rah already posted up on the couches — smoking blunts and killing bottles like they owned the club.
Josh waved us over.
"Where y'all niggas been?" he laughed. "Munchie and Ron been turning this bitch up all night."
I sucked my teeth quietly.
Truth was... I ain't really like Josh like that. I only tolerated him because he was dating my homegirl Sha.
Well... technically, me and Sha used to mess around.
"What you want us here for?" I asked, already irritated.
Josh leaned back with a grin. "I just wanted to party with my niggas. Been a long time since we all hung out together or whatever."
I tilted my head, getting more annoyed by the second.
I knew he wanted more than just a party.
Something about this whole setup felt off.
Still, I decided to play along. Sometimes it's better to let a nigga talk when he think everybody too high or drunk to notice what he really saying.
"Shiid," I muttered. "Then let's party, nigga."
More blunts got rolled.
Bottle after bottle of tequila hit the table.
An hour later, the liquor and smoke had everybody slumped into the couches, talking loud and laughing about random shit. The room smelled like weed, expensive cologne, and alcohol.
That's when Josh finally brought up the Trabia Mafia.
"I heard Jamar coming to take over LA, Khaza."
I turned toward him slowly, eyes low from the weed.
"How he gon' do that when I already did it?"
Josh laughed. "He could kill you."
Nobody else laughed with him.
I took another pull from the blunt, staring at him through the smoke.
"Yeah," I said calmly. "He could try."
Josh shrugged before taking a hit himself.
"I don't even see why y'all beefing so hard. Honestly, y'all could probably come together and make some real power moves. Take over together."
I narrowed my eyes.
"And how you suppose we do that?"
"Make a deal with him," Josh replied casually, the blunt hanging from the corner of his mouth.
That's when everything in my head started clicking.
So this what the night was really about.
This nigga was trying to get me to affiliate with the Trabia Mafia.
Why?
I didn't know yet.
But something definitely wasn't adding up. Especially with that weak excuse about wanting to "party," when we literally kicked it with this nigga last week.
I leaned back into the couch, finishing off my blunt while the noise around me slowly faded into the background.
