Asher's P.O.V.

I wake up to my beautiful mate, her head resting on my chest and her arm wrapped around my waist as I wrap mine around hers. I kiss the top of her head and quietly pull away, gently placing her head on the pillow.

I get dressed and walk downstairs, getting all the business done that needs to be done. It's pretty early in the morning so Katie should be asleep for a while. I walk into my office, calling Alpha Troy of Full Moon pack. He's a very good friend of mine; I'm closest to him than any other of the alphas.

"Hello?" Troy's voice answers.

"Troy, its Asher." I say.

"Asher, what can I do for you?" He asks.

"Well I'm informing you I was interested in moving the attack date closer." I state.

"How much closer?" He asks.

"Within the next two weeks."

I hear him sigh. "Are you sure that's a good idea, Asher?"

"Yes, I can't hold my wolf back much longer. Especially because he was partly to blame for my mate."

"I'm sorry about Katie."

"Actually, she woke up yesterday."

"I'm very glad to hear that. My pack and I will stand with you if you decide to attack early."

"Thank you. I will inform the others."

We both hung up.

I walk back to our room to see if Katie is still sleeping, luckily she is. I exit the room once more and find Colton already waiting my office. "Hey, I need to talk to you." I say to him.

"Yeah, me too." He replies.

"I want to attack next week." I say bluntly.

Colton's eyes widen in surprise. "Well, if you think it's best..."

"I do, but Katie can't know." I tell him seriously.

I hate lying to her, but I'm doing what I think is best. Even if that means going behind her back and doing this. I know Katie wants to help, but it would make me feel better if I did this. It also makes me feel better that she would be at home, safe.

"She isn't going to like that." He states.

No shit.

"Yeah, I know. That's why she can't know. You have to block her out of your mind link, the last thing I need is her finding out from you."

Katie's P.O.V.

I woke up and see that Asher isn't in bed. I shrug it off and grab the phone laying on the bedside table and dial Heather's number. The last time I remember talking to her was a few months back, when she helped me escape my old pack. "Hello?" Heather answered.

"Hi, it's Katie." I say.

"Katie! Oh my gosh, thank God you're awake! Are you alright?" She asks, though she's whispering and it's really hard to hear her.

"Yes, I'm fine. Though, I don't remember visiting Midnight Risers." I tell her.

"You don't remember anything?" She questions, still whispering.

"Could you speak up a little bit? I really can't hear you." I say to her.

"I can't, someone might hear me."

"Why does it matter?" I ask.

She sighs. "Since you've left, your dad is crazier than usual. He's kills pack members at least three times a day if they don't train hard enough. Also, he said if anyone tries to communicate with anyone other than our pack, he'll kill them." My father has lost his damn mind.
