Asher's P.O.V

'Dude, you're mate is crazy!' Colton said to me through our mind link.

'Watch the way you talk about my mate.' I warned. 'And it's alpha to you during business hours.'

'Whatever you say, alpha.' He replied sarcastically.

'Colton...' I warned.

He chuckled, 'Fine, fine.'

'Asher! Colton is annoying me!' Katie complained also through mind link.

Maybe having Colton watch Katie wasn't such a good idea...

'YOU THINK?!' Both Katie and Colton say through mind kink. I chuckled but then blocked them both from my mind.

I walked into the meeting room which was filled with pack members. I coughed lowly to get everyone's attention. "We have a problem." I started. "Katie, my mate, is being threatened by her previous pack. They wish to take her back. That, I won't stand for. I need everyone to be extra aware of your surroundings."

"Alpha, what is her previous pack?" Harry, an elder pack member asked.

"Midnight Risers." I replied.

"Alpha, isn't that the pack your sister is in?" Harry asked. Ok so I wasn't an only child... My sister, Emily, belonged to that pack as well. But Emily and I don't get along. I don't even qualify her as a sister.

The day Emily met her mate and moved out of my pack was the best day of my life. All she did was cause unnecessary drama that was never good for my pack.

Then I realized, Katie and Emily must know each other.

'Katie, was there a girl named Emily in your pack?' I asked Katie through mind link.

'I'm blocking you like you did me. Bye.' She said before actually blocking me!

I snapped out of my thoughts and realized everyone was still waiting for an answer. "Yes, Emily does belong to that pack. Why?"

"Well, if anything happens, such as a war breaks out, I didn't know if you'd want to do anything irrational." Harry calmly explains.

"My mate comes first. If it's necessary to fight, then that's what we will do." I stated. They all nodded their head, some reluctantly, but they all did so in respect.

After five hours the meeting was over. FINALLY! We went over other things like financial things, training new wolves, and some other boring things.

I was excited to see my mate. I had been thinking about her the whole time in that meeting. Being away from her really makes me realize how much I love her.

As I pulled up in the driveway I heard screams- screams coming from my mate. I quickly got out of the car and rushed towards her. She was chasing Colton, who had her shoe.

"COLTON! GIVE IT BACK!" Katie shouted at Colton. Now this was a sight for sore eyes. They hadn't realized that I was there yet so I casually leaned against my car and watch the scene.

"Not until you give me my car keys!" Colton yelled over his shoulder.

"YOU RAN OVER A POOR FROG! YOU DESERVE ALL SADNESS IN LIFE!" So that's why she's mad at him. My mate is weird. "Give me the shoe or I'll mind link Asher." Katie threatened. I liked the fact that she would call me if anything was wrong.

Colton stopped dead in his tracks and turned to face her. "You wouldn't."

"Try me." She said with a smug expression.

"Let's be calm about this Katie. I'll give you the shoe if you hand over the keys." He said calmly as he slowly took a few steps towards her like she was crazy. Damn, this is better than a movie.

"Hand over the shoe first." Katie said.

"No way! At the same time we switch." Colton said.

"Fine. On three.... One, two... Three." On three they both tossed over each other's stuff. She got her shoe back, and now looking very happy. Asher just looked relived.

"Was that so hard?" He asked her teasingly.

She glared at him. "Watch yourself, I can still call Asher." Katie warned.

He put up his hands defensively and she laughed at him.

"Wow, so that's what I miss when I leave you two here?" I asked, now walking towards them. They both snap their heads in my direction.

Katie looks happy and Colton looks relieved.

"Dude, finally." Colton said as he walked away looking distressed. Katie laughed at him.

I walked up to Katie and engulfed her in a hug. "I missed you." I whispered.

"Missed you too." She said.

I pulled out of the hug to look at her. "So, did you know a girl named Emily Scanlon?"

She looked shocked when I asked her, then her facial expression quickly turned into disgust. "I hate her! Don't ever say that name around me again!" She shouted.

I've never seen Katie so mad. She looked crazy hot- what? No Asher! She's mad, calm her down!

"Why?" I asked her.

"Why?! Because she stole my ex boyfriend, crashed my car, started stupid rumors about me and she's the spawn of the freaking devil!" I couldn't help but laugh, that sounds just like Emily. "YOU FIND THIS FUNNY?!" She questioned. Her eyes turning black, God now her wolf is coming through.

I sobered up and placed both hands on her shoulders to calm her down. "She's my sister."

"Oh... YOU'RE RELATED TO THAT DEMON?! WHAT ABOUT THE 'Oh I don't have siblings' blah blah blah." She mimicked a deep voice, I'm guessing trying to sound like me.

"I don't sound like that!" I whined. "But yes, I am related to her. I don't like her either so that's why I chose to say I'm sibling free."

"She makes me want to... She makes me want to punch puppies!" Katie huffed out! I couldn't help but laugh.

"You get mad at me for running over a frog but you want to punch puppies?!" Colton said as he walked back over to us.

"I HAVE A REASON!" She shouted.

"YOU STOLE MY KEYS!" Colton said as he waved his car keys in the air.

"GET OVER IT!" She replied.

"Colton, she does have a reason... Remember Emily?" He cringed when I asked him.

"THE SPAWN OF THE DEVIL IS COMING BACK?!" He asked in a panicked voice.

"THAT'S WHAT I SAID!" Katie said throwing her hands up in the air.

"No, but she was in Katie's old pack and in case we need to start a war I just need to talk to her-" Katie cut me off before I could finish.

"A what? A war?! Why the hell would we be starting a war?" She asked.

"They're trying to take you away! I'll do what's necessary to make sure that doesn't happen."

"My family, Asher. What about them?!"

"They don't seem like much of a family from the look of the scars on your body!" I regretted those words right when they came from my mouth. Her eyes started tearing and she quickly ran into the house. "Katie, wait!" I shouted and started running towards her but Colton grabbed onto my arm stopping me.

"Give her some space." He said. I knew he was right so all I did was nod.
