Paula (Cashes)
Day by day all we been doing is prepare. Today was a weekend and I was off doing my own thing. So me, being bored this morning, all I did was sit on the couch watching reruns of Martin while Dewayne was sleep.
I laid my head against the couch staring at the flat screen as Martin talked about Pam.
Almost dozing off I felt the couch dip beside me. I turn to see Dewayne leaning on my leg.
"Good morning."
"Wassup." He mumble, his voice deep and husky. I smile to myself looking back at the tv.
I dozed off a few minutes later with Dewayne laying on my legs. A few hours later I wake up.
This time wrapped in his arms. I was confused to how I got here, but I was loving where I was at.
Uh...okay?
Let me stop.
I get up slowly and carefully so I wouldn't wake him. I went straight to the kitchen deciding to cook breakfast for the both of us at least.
I started cooking and moments later I was almost finished now doing the eggs as my phone rung.
I picked up and heard Bria.
"Mommy?"
"Hey baby." I smile turning off the stove.
"I miss you." She say clearly.
"I miss you more, how are you?"
"I tired, but grandpa took us to the movies."
"What did you go see?"
"The avengers with Shane and Cassie." She sigh "I wanted to see the book of life." She mumbled. I laugh.
"Did Nina want to also?"
"No! She wanted to see Avengers to! I mad!" I laugh hard at that.
"It's I'm Bria not I."
"Okay mommy."
"So what you been up to?"
"Playing with my toys, Grandpa got Nina toys to. We played together, but Shane messed it up and threw a leggo at me." She grumbled.
Shane so bad. It don't even make sense.
"He bad." I laugh.
"I said the same thing to grandpa. He never, he never listen." She repeat.
I fix the plates and just as I poured me some juice Dewayne walked in. He stopped at the kitchen doorway and looked around.
"Y'all so cute." I coo.
"I am, but not Shane."
I laugh as she giggle on the other line.
"Bria come take a bath!" I hear my mom say on the line.
"Okay!! Here I'm come."
"Bria it's I." I correct.
"But you just said say I'm." She whine "I don't know." She sighs "make up you mind mom."
"Just forget what I said." I say as my mom yell her name again.
"Okay love you, bye."
"Love you to lady bug." She hung up and I stared at the phone.
"I could get use to this." Dewayne say sitting next to me on the table.
"To what?"
"You cookin for me." He say. I laughed and push his arm.
