A few weeks after the adventurer friends left, a slight tremor was felt in the fungal cells of the Hastú's Lab.

Tick, tick... tick, tick, tick...

The tremor was very weak but it continued with certain patterns. These fungal cells were a part of mycelium web that is connected with those adventurer friends, so the tremors were definitely signals from them.

Hastú and his friends both held their breath and focused on the tremors.

Tick, tick, tick, tick...

Eventually, Hastú successfully interpreted the codes.

"Looking just like us."

"They're called Ebors."

"Cimtown. Name of the village"

"The situation here. Not good."

The trembling of the fungal cells stopped at the last sentence that aroused a wide range of guesses.

"What do they mean by 'Not good'?"

Hastú's friends were busy coming up with their own interpretations.

"Are they being trapped by those Ebors?"

"Are they at war? I mean the CimTown is under fire or something?"

"Or the virus is spreading across the town?"

The next day, additional information arrived through the mycelium network.

"CimTown. Big buildings. Big roads."

"But severe pollution. Land and water."

"Lack of food. Life is difficult."

"Ebors are waiting. Someone to save them."

The last sentence of the second communication was firmly engraved in Hastu's mind. He murmured:

'Salvation. I must become a savior to these Ebors as I did to my friends.'

Hastú started to think harder. The current level of mycelium technology he developed wouldn't be sufficient enough to complete this salvation, more drastic improvements are needed, he thought. Hastú brought his fellow researchers together.

"We need a breakthrough technology that allows us to use mycelium anytime, anywhere for any purpose. We must create some sort of device that contains mycelium and turns themselves into target products instantly, with a simple control. And it should be easy to carry."

"We must succeed in this technological development in order to save Ebors."

As the research continued day and night, friends were getting exhausted, and some even collapsed from fatigue and stress. But Hastú didn't slow down the research, he rather pushed it harder and harder.

'What's important is nothing else. It is the salvation we're working on.'

Several weeks passed, Hastú finally was able to get the prototype of his new invention.

Around friends who were pale from exhaustion, Hastú energetically stood up and lifted up his hand holding the creature.

"I named it for them, a pod for Ebors, let's call it Eborpod!"

His eyes were full of joy more than ever before.

The description of the Eborpod had its complexity, but its use was simple. A finger-sized pill-shaped capsule is divided into left and right halves, with a programming button in the middle. When the button is pressed, oxygen enters the capsule and mixes the fungi from the left half with the water and the nutrition kept in the right half. In an instant, the growth of fungi explodes, and the desired product is created according to the program entered on the button. It takes only a few seconds for the capsule to change into a target product.

Hastú named this process of 'pung'.

Eborpods pung and become food, clothes, bricks, foams, and many more, as each being programmed.

Eventually, the adventurer friends returned. They were tired from the long trip, but excited with opportunities that they had discovered in CimTown. What they told was pretty much the same with the information delivered through the mycelial network. The Ebors suffer from severe environmental pollution. Their buildings were tall and huge, but they had been left unmanaged. Their roads were long and wide, but they were now overgrown with weeds. Ebors greeted Hastú's friends kindly, but there was nothing much to treat these visitors.

Maybe the initial settlement wouldn't be easy, but the infrastructure of the town will surely enable Hastú and his friends to go back to normal life, out of this forest. They have mycelium. They have Eborpods. There was a slight fear of moving to a new place, but along with these new creatures Hastú and his friends had enough confidence to travel to any place.

"Let's go. Let's save Ebors and bring CimTown to life."

Hastú spoke with strong willingness. No friends objected to Hastu's decision, and even if there was, none would have been able to reject Hastú's decision. Thus, Hastú and his friends bid farewell to the forest, thinking that they would never come back here again. The journey to Simtown has begun. Mycelium under the ground was staring blankly at their departure.
