Vampirion is a hero like most people in the quirked society, trying to climb the popularity ladder of hero ranking, only to stay at around the 300 mark.

It didn't used to be a problem, many heroes had flashier quirks. But the thing that had his usually positive mood dampened was the criticism he got. His online presence trolled by people mocking him for his deafness, or his anemic appearance when he overuses his quirk. It was soul crushing to be ridiculed for something so out of his control.

Mina Ashido had far surpassed her childhood bestie in the ranks when she graduated U.A. but it had never gotten in the way of their friendship. He had been her inspiration, always getting back up, no matter how many times he was knocked down, or how many challenges he faced.

So when she hadn't seen anything of him in awhile, she started to get worried.

She had been ringing the doorbell for the past half an hour, and was now very concerned. She used her acid, melting the door handle and effectively breaking in.

She saw his buzzer bracelet on the kitchen counter, so no wonder he hadn't come to the door if he hadn't had it on him. The entire apartment was a mess, and it had a musky stench to it that had her holding her nose.

She moved to open some windows, passing by the couch, once pristine, now stained and looking like it had been lived on for weeks.

"God damnit [Y/n], what happened to you?"

She dares further, waking past a trashed bathroom. She softly pushes open the bedroom door, not being able to see anything in the pitch blackness. She flicks on the light, and a hiss sounds as the culprit curls further into the bed, hiding away from the light.

"This isn't healthy [Y/n]." She says annoyed, knowing he wouldn't hear her as she went over to open the blinds and windows. She turns back to his groaning figure, noting all the piles of clothes on the floor. He was in just his boxers, his hair looked greasy and his eyes looked swollen with eyebags.

She comes over, trying not to grimace as she lies next to him. "Hey."

He watches her face, and as soon as he sees her lips move, he sighs. "I don't need to hear it."

She taps his cheek as he goes to look away. "I think you do."

Over the next couple of days, she had practically moved in. She had helped him get back on his feet, cleaned his apartment and had him actually eating food.

"You didn't have to do all this... you have your own life to live, people need you more than me.."

"Stop it, I don't wanna hear it." She smiles as she eats her own food. After a few more moments of silence, she taps the table, getting his attention. "I want to move in."

"What?"

"I want to move in."

"No I-" he stumbles, taken aback. "I heard you."

She snorts, and he softly glares at the look on her face, but can't hide the smile.

"...Why?"

"Because you always make me happy, and I want to be there to return the favour." She smiles warmly, trying not to grin at the dusting of pink that blossoms across his cheekbones. "I love you [N/n], I know you love me too."

"Mina.." he pauses, thinking everything over, "you don't love me like that."

"I could, quite easily actually." She hums, twirling her fork in the air. "Let me take care of you?"

He looks like he's about to protest, but her plead breaks him down. "Fine."

"You can stay."

She jumps up from her seat, wrapping her arms around his neck and excitedly nuzzling into his neck. He reluctantly wraps his arms around her, hugging her back in a way that conveys his gratitude.

"I'm always here, sunshine."
