Luz entered the house her mom was currently living in for a visit she sees her mother and walks up to her "hola Mami" "hola mija how was your day?" "Decent" she heard footsteps turning around to see a tall man with a beard and mustache with hazel eyes "luz meet mark" "mark?" "Hey kiddo its now to finally meet you" luz was nervous but tried to ignore it she had to give him a chance "nice to meet you to" "listen we don't have to shake hands its completely okay" "oh" camila felt confident enough that the two would get along well enough to tolerate each other so far it was going okay mark gave them some mother and daughter time for bonding time had passed and luz went back to eda's place

Luz came back and noticed her mom was busy so her and mark started talking to each other and learning about each other to which they had similar interests both love to explore read play chess and video games also love to cook mark was a very nice guy someone luz had always imagined was someone she wanted to bond with knowing him and her mother are together she wanted nothing but happiness for her mother and mark camila watching from a few feet away noticing they were talking again and seemed to be in a good conversation "so kiddo whats your favorite sport if you have one" luz couldn't decide which she liked best but settled for one "basketball it can be fun" "yeah it is fun I played it all the time as a kid"
Luz started getting used to mark she liked talking with him now he had a comforting vibe a chill guy anyone could get used to maybe wanna hangout with him more luz's mother was glad to see them getting along and continued with what she was doing finishing folding clothes "I gotta go to work soon" "alright love" "luz you can stay here for as long as you like" "okay mami" mark smiled "I'll be making dinner when you get back" "thanks sweetie" he fixed his shirt and approached his partner kissing her on the head, luz hasn't seen her mom this happy in awhile which made her happy she found someone for her the adults talked for awhile as luz's mother checked the time "oh I gotta go" she grabbed her keys hugged her daughter and left closing the door behind her soon she was gone "so luz you wanna play chess?" "Sure" mark pulled out the board game and they started to play. Mark was really good at chess and offered to teach luz and give her tips to which she accepted they made up random knock knock jokes and ate snacks luz felt herself begin to relax being around mark at first she was a bit tense but slowly he gained her trust slowly she knew she shouldn't be afraid of him which was why she stayed longer to get to know him better

Mark checked the time "its time to make dinner you wanna help?" "Yeah!" Luz was really excited which made mark happy to hear they entered the kitchen and he gave luz some instructions on the things to grab while he pulled out the food even wanted to make sugary drinks luz was able to help a lot and was proud of herself when mark told her how much of a good cook she was and had more confidence in herself weird how she already started to be like this mark since she was hardly like with other adults other then her mom and eda which made her happy there was another adult she felt she could trust mark and luz had a little food fight which luz ended up laughing really hard as mark cleaned the food bits of his shirt chuckling he was glad she was comfortable around him they continued cooking till camila came in and joined them she started working on the drinks which they all wanted milk shakes making sure it was a kind her daughter could drink since she was lactose luz then helped her mom clean up the mess while mark set the table "its all set ladies" luz and mark bowed down to each other
They all took a seat and talked about their days mark and camila were mostly interested in hearing luz's "so hows school?" "Its actually decent I have some friends and I have passing grades" "thats amazing mija" "what are their names?" "Willow gus viney hunter boscha amity" "wow thats great to hear, anything you guys like to do?" "Read, goof off as in play pranks on each other friendly teasing and role playing we have a hangout spot mostly we just talk and talk" "will we be able to meet them someday?" "Probably" "your friends sound awesome" "they sure are we all are protective of each other like we are all siblings" "so who do you hangout with the most like besties?" "Amity we share a lot interests" "Amity that's a cool name" "she's so cool!" "We even like the same book series! We both love to draw and both like to be at the park" luz blushed mark could see and so could camila they looked at each other not making it obvious 'someone has a crush' 'my baby is growing up so fast' "I can't wait to meet them some day

Luz helped wash the dishes then packed her things as she opened the door eda was outside waiting for her "bye mami bye mark" "bye Luz see you next time" "bye mija stay safe"
She closed the door behind her and got inside eda's car putting in her seatbelt "you have fun?" "Yeah it was great" "Glad to hear that" she started driving making her way on the highway then made a few turns then they made it back home, Luz was happy to see king as she opened the door to see him sitting there waiting for her to return "Luz!" He jumped in her arms wagging his little tail he wad very happy seeing her back eda then entered closing tbe door and locking it luz and king went in her room and wanted to draw so that is what they did
