Chapter 29: The Raging War

"How was your short vacation, Av?", Niall asked me, "It was fun, actually. I missed the people there and it was a good time to see them again." I answered truthfully. "So, how was your tour?", I asked them as I sipped my oreo milkshake. Liam brought us to 'Milkshake Paradise', a vintage-style milkshake and pizza parlor near the boys' pad. "T'was alright.", Niall answered and began to devour two slices of heavenly pizza at the same time. "Slow down, you leprechaun. And to answer your question honestly, it wasn't alright.", Louis said, turning his attention to me after spanking Niall at the back. I furrowed my eyebrows before taking a bite of blueberry cheesecake, "What do you mean, Lou?". He sighed, "The tour experience with the fans was good, maybe even better, but the tour itself wasn't and I think you know why, Av.", he said. I gulped, feeling guilty inside. I was just somebody before I met these guys and our lives were normal back then if it wasn't for me. Suddenly, Harry's arm was snaked around my shoulder and he gave me a little squeeze. "Don't worry, love, it's not your damn fault. If it wasn't for-" "Hold it right there, mister.", Liam interrupted, "We've already talked about this that we shouldn't blame one person for a failure. It's all our faults, except you Avery.", he stated. I glanced at Zayn and he was already shifting at his side rather uncomfortably. I felt sorry for him.

"I was just saying that things would have been easier if it wasn't for someone's bigger fault.", Harry spatted with a loud voice and I looked at Zayn again. I can see in my peripheral vision the veins in his throat bulging, like he's trying to control his temper. "If only Simon made a better idea than this.", Harry whispered but was loud enough for us to hear. Finally, Zayn broke his core,"Look, I know that I messed up big time but come on! I'm not the only bad guy here.", he stated with a harsh tone. I can feel the tension between Harry and Zayn rising up and I felt the need to break it. "You know what? I think that we should all talk about this topic some other time when you know, we're not in a public area.", I said as I looked around seeing the looks given by the people around us. "Avery's right. We don't need a commotion right now, guys.", Niall said and Louis even said that we need to take a break and that the boys should not let their panties in a twist. 

After a short pause, Liam's phone rang and it was Simon on the line. He was muttering a string of 'okay' and he finally dropped the call with a small smile formed on his lips. We all shot him a 'what-was-that' kind of look. "Well?", Harry asked impatiently. "Simon gave us 6 tickets to Oceanarium and we need to spend it today.", Liam finally gave in making Niall and Louis bounce on their seats. "Yes!", they said in unison and gave each other hi-fives.

We've been spending the last hour witnessing the argument of Louis and Liam over a silly thing: Liam's obsession of sea turtles. "Turtles are cute and all but they're pretty useless, Liam.", Louis stated for the bajillion time. "They are not useless, Tomlinson. You, like other people, are not just open minded. You also lack the intellectual learning about turtles", Liam defended. "Are you saying that I'm stupid?", Louis asked, his nostrils flaring. "I didn't say anything.", Liam said.

"You did!"

"I didn't"

"Did!"

"Didn't!"

"SHUT IT! Both of you.", Harry's voiced boomed but that doesn't seem to do the trick. They just continued at bickering with each other. Harry whined, Zayn grunted, and even Niall, who was busy licking his 3rd round of ice cream in a cone, muttered a series of foul words. I was at the middle of a raging World War V. 

So help me, God.

I left the boys and heard a young man in a uniform shouting something about a dolphin show. Then that gave me away the perfect idea. I went back to my boys with a huge grin like the Cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland plastered on my face.

I must look stupid right now.

But I don't care.

"Boys, are you up for some dolphin show?", I asked. Oh boy, this is going to be exciting.
