Chapter 26: Bumping Styles

Avery

I’m too young to enter a club, too young to get drunk, too young to fall in love and too young to experience a heartache. What am I even doing with my life? I mean, I was perfectly fine one second, then the next I wasn’t anymore. Hangover’s a bitch. It makes you think of different shitty things and makes you scream bloody murder. I wasn’t planning on getting drunk or going inside a hazardous place. It was my friend’s fault and I was really submissive to her. I dragged my lazy self outside my room and almost fell down to the platform of stairs. Blame the hangover. I quickly walked towards the medicine cabinet and grabbed some painkillers. “Oh no!” I groaned and mentally slapped myself. I looked for the other medicine cabinet and realized that this house has no supply of painkillers. Addition to my burden was that nobody was home except me. It was already 1 in the afternoon and the sun is shining oh so bright that it can kill you to go outside. I decided to lay down the couch while chugging down a bottle of Arizona. I was perfectly watching a tv show when somebody turn it off. “What the actual hell was that?” I yelled and turned around, enough to face Damon handing me a paper bag. “Thought you need these.” He said and I snatched the bag rather in a rude way. I peeped inside it and was almost astonished to see some painkillers, and a tub of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. I stared at him with wide eyes. “You bought these for me?” I asked and he smirked, “Nope, I bought it for myself. I just wanted to tease you so I gave it to you.” He replied sarcastically. “Shut up. I’m having a bad hangover and I won’t hesitate to tie you down that chair.” I warned him with a glare which was responded by a genuine smile of his. “Ooh...that sounds really naughty, Avery. I never thought you could say that. You don’t have to tie me in a chair.” He added with a devilish smirk and I realized that what I said sounded like an innuendo. “Shut up!” I said and threw a pillow at him and he ducked, missing the hit.

We ended up watching a movie while finishing our own tubs of delectable ice cream. “Av, remind me not to let you watch ‘A Walk to Remember’ with me again.” Damon said and he received a glare from me.  “Hey! It’s a very romantic movie and I love it. Oh, scratch that! All girls love it.” I said defensively and crossed my arms across my chest. “Please, that movie is a tear-jerker to girls. I don’t even know why you girls cry over it? I mean, look at the dude! He’s basically all over her at the ending. And Mandy Moore looks rather shit in her long skirts.” He spoke with pure honesty. “How dare you? She had to wear those hideous skirts and sweaters because it was part of her role, dweeb!” I answered back and soon enough we were off to a glaring game. “Whatever!” I snapped and signed. This boy is hopeless when it comes to chick-flicks. I heard him mimicking my voice and walked away. “Where do you think you’re going?” I asked frantically. He shrugged, “Someplace where I don’t have to deal with a girl having her PMS”, and left me with a mouth hanging wide open.

What the hell?!

Damon

I might have regretted leaving Avery for a while but I know deep inside that she wants to be alone, all by herself. I’m not encouraging her to mope around the house or be such a cry baby for the things that happened to her recently. Honestly, I feel sad for her. She doesn’t deserve a guy who would just come back to her when he’s bored or lonely. Most importantly, she doesn’t needs a guy who’ll just cheat on her. That fucking scum, I’ll kick him to death when I see him. I decided to take a stroll at the Northview Park and accidentally shoved someone by my shoulder. “Shit” I muttered and handed a hand to the person. “Sorry, bro. I wasn’t staring.” I quickly apologized and the guy stood up, fixing himself. I was greeted by a mop of brown curls and emerald eyes. “It’s okay. It didn’t leave a scratch.” He joked around. I suddenly recognized this guy, and then anger filled my emotions.

It was none other than the famous Harry Styles.

Harry

I decided to visit the hometown of Avery because I know that she’ll be there. I wanted to her to seek comfort from me. I wanted her to need me. I know that it was wrong to lead her unto knowing that Zayn was cheating on her, well he was, but it shouldn’t happen further if Perry wasn’t in the picture anymore. I was into my own world of thoughts when I suddenly fell on my bum. “Shit” a guy cursed and struck his hand out to help me get up. “Sorry bro, I wasn’t staring.” He added and I fixed my tousled hair and coat. “It’s okay. It didn’t leave a scratch.” I joked and faced the guy. He looked decent, except for the fact that veins were popping out from him. He appeared rather angry and  I was confused. “Do I know you?” I decided to ask him. “It’s none of your business, Styles.” He answered back. What the hell is wrong with this guy? I didn’t even know him!  “Watch your language, lad.” I warned him and he scoffed at me. “You don’t need to know me, but I just want you to deliver a message to your fucking friend that his ‘girlfriend’ is now his ‘ex-girlfriend’”. What is he talking about? I blinked several times before realization dawned unto me. “Wait- You know Avery?” I asked in disbelief. He nodded annoyingly and I was surprised. Just my luck! “Look pal, I know what’s between the two of them. Trust me. I just need you to tell me where she is because I need to talk her.” I pleaded. “Why should I do that? You’re friends with that fucking Zayn Malik.” He spatted with venom lacing his tone. “Just because I’m friends with Zayn doesn’t mean I’m on his side. Look, I know it’s hard to trust me right now, but I need to tell Avery the truth behind all of these things.” I answered and I was near to kneeling on the ground but it wasn’t intended anymore since he nodded. “Fine, I’ll help you. Just tell her the fucking truth and don’t even try to defend that friend of yours.” He said, still angry but it lessened a little. I smiled, “Thanks, I owe you one.”

Avery

I was busy fidgeting with my IPod, listening to Arctic Monkeys, when I heard the jumbling of keys. “Dame, did you get me any cookies?” I asked and peeped at the person on the door. I lost hold of my Ipod and the world suddenly stopped. The clocks were no longer ticking. The air was filled with tension and I could almost choke.

“Harry?”, I asked and a pair of green emerald eyes bore into mine.

A/N

Oh my freaking gosh! After a millenium, I had finally updated. Tbh, I was so freaking busy these past few months bc being a junior is so difficult. Sleep is not available in my vocabulary right now. And another tbh, I really feel like a shitty writer right now. Ideas with flow in my mind but when I start to type them, they either make me feel bored ot I forgot them. Seriously. You can kill me now. But I'll probably update during Friday nights depending on my schedule. I have a hectic schedule right now bc of shotload of school works.
