Chapter 24: Killing The Jerk Part 1

Zayn’s P.O.V

Damn! I’ve been trying to contact Avery for the past few hours, but all I got was nothing. I don’t even know what’s wrong with her. She didn’t even bother on texting me even a single letter. I’ll never understand girls. One minute you’re good, then the next you’re not. My thoughts slipped away from me when a finger pokes my sides. “Hey, babe.”, Perrie said in a flirty tone. I pushed her away and she looked rather disappointed. “What’s wrong?” she asked. “Us. That’s what’s wrong.” I said in a flat tone. I began to stand up from my chair, but Perrie’s arms started to fling at me. “Let go of me.” I said with a cold gaze at her. “Please…Zayn, don’t leave me.” She pleaded with those puppy eyes and pouted lips. NO, it’s not going to work this time. “ GET.AWAY.FROM.ME.” I said the words with venom, it was quite harsh to be heard but I had no choice. And in an instant, I pushed her away and walked towards the door. I left the room for once and heard sniffles and sobs echoing inside it.

This will be the last I’ll make a girl cry.

Avery

Tissue is my best companion for now. I had been crying for god knows how many hours it was and I’m still crying until now. I had been a fool and I got no one but myself to blame. I mean, it’s crazy how one person made you believe into something that in reality was a complete and utter bullshit. I’m going to ask Walt Disney on why he made us believe that ‘happy endings’ do exist. Why did the ancient human beings introduce the word “forever”? Why do people even experience love when it brings nothing but sadness, pain, misery, and other f***ing words? I hope I can google the answers to my questions, but I know I can’t.

Maybe, it was all part of his plan. Right. I AM a part of his dirty f***ing goddamn bulls**t plan. And apparently, stupid, naïve, little me played my part very well up to the extent that I can give ourselves an Oscar award. But no, I can’t. I was blind. Blind with the definition of love. Blind with the absurdity of everything. Now, I know better. Love is nothing but a complete baloney. It’s some kind of a sick joke.

Pathetic

“Avery, stop crying. He’s definitely not worth the tears. He’s a jerk, a stupid one I might add. He plays with girls like they’re Barbie dolls. Wait- not Barbie dolls, because that would be so gay. Maybe something boyish. Lego perhaps?” I had to suppress a laugh at what my best friend just said. She was right, he’s not worth it.

But the question is, were you worth to him?

My sub-conscious asks me. It sucks because I already knew the answer to that. I wasn’t. Period. I don’t need to ask him for that, it’s already said by his actions. I just need to get over him. “Hey, how’s school btw?” Tiffany asked me. I chuckled and confusion was written all over her pretty face. “School hasn’t started yet.” I said and laughed again. “Are you sure you’re attending classes, my dear friend?” I teased her and she shot me a glare. “Well to my defense, our homeroom teacher is way too boring. I didn’t lend her my ears even for a minute while she was talking about some shimirishimiri something. I couldn’t care less.” She said and put her hands in the air like she was surrending. “Only you, Tif. Only you.” I said and we both erupted in laughter. “So, what are you going to do with Mr. Malik?” she asked me and there goes that venom back in my stomach again. I shrugged and she nodded, like she knows something I don’t. She wiggled her eyebrows at me and she had this smile that means something. “What? Got a plan inside your crazy brain?” I asked her and she smiled brighter. Bingo!

Zayn kept on walking back and forth and I swear by the name of potatoes that he’s making my head dizzy. He kept on mumbling about something and running his hand on his quiff hair. “Dude, stop it.” Niall said with frustration. Of course, dumb-ass Malik here won’t listen to him because he’s busy mumbling about some crap. Okay, he won’t really budge. “NIALL SAID TO STOP WALKING BACK AND FORTH LIKE A LUNATIC YOU SON OF A B**CH!!!!” I shouted and the boys stared at me, their mouth hanging wide open probably because of astonishment. And that did the trick, he stopped. “What did you just called me?” Zayn asked, his voice cool and calm. “Want me to repeat it? I said, YOU’RE A SON OF A B**CH! Wait- did that hurt your feelings, Zaynie?” I mocked him. He glared at me and I can see his breathing accelerating and he looks like he’s going to explode. “Go on, punch me in the face. I couldn’t care less.” I said and opened my arms, like I was welcoming him into a tight hug...or punch. “Watch your words, Styles. Do it again, or else you’ll regret it.” He said and left the room.

“Asshole” I muttered under my breath.

Liam

I don’t know what’s happening with our band anymore. We’re supposed to be a team, but I guess we’re slowly falling apart. I never imagined One Direction splitting, never in a million years. If it wasn’t for a girl, they wouldn’t be fighting.

Avery

That name still makes my heart flutter, I admit. But right now, dating her isn’t the ideal thing to do. I need to fix this band first. I’ve already set my priorities and this band is my family, I just couldn’t leave them for someone I like. Then realization struck me like lightning. I helped in wrecking this band, I should...no...I need to fix this once and for all, even if doing this will hurt others.

Avery

I was becoming insane every minute that I spend inside this room with a crazy girl, mind you it’s my BFF. Wanna know what we’ve been doing for the past hour? My crazy friend sitting beside me was surfing the net on how to make a revenge plan. Of course being a crazy girl she is, comes up with the craziest and lamest ideas. You know, the typical ideas that you often read in romance novels and watch in chick-flick movies. While I on the other hand had the easiest part...rejecting her ideas. Ta-daa!!! Easy right? “Arrggghhh!!! I give up.” She said and shoved the laptop away from her. “Good.” I said and she crossed her arms, making her big boobs bulge. Sorry for the mid-graphic imagination. “Easy for you to say. All you do is say: “No, that’s too obvious!, No, that’s stupid!, No to this! No to that!” she mocked in a shrilly voice. “Hey, I don’t sound like that” I spat and she only stuck her tongue out. “You know, all this revenge thingy makes me stress.” She said and stretched her arms. “Ditto.” I agreed and sighed. “I have an idea. Why don’t we go to this bar? They serve the best drinks plus the music system there is so awesome.” She suggested. Me, being the typical party pooper, would 100% say NO. But apparently, 80% of that state went to sleep and never woke up. I smiled, “Sure, why not?”. She squealed and clapped her hands. Now, she had this twinkling pair of eyes and that naughty smile. “I have the perfect dress for you.”
