Chapter 6: A puppet and birthday parties 1916
" Looks like you can sit up now, huh?" Suzy questioned Jeonghan but he was in a piss poor mood, especially after what his sister told him what happened the night prior— leaving out the major details of what she told to the two in the lab. " This isn't fair." Jeonghan stated as Rei rolled her eyes at the end of his bed. " Yeah, your own Colonel coming to save you after passing out and the fact you got out alive before the building collapsed to rubble isn't fair." The woman sighed out at her younger brother. " But we were so close to finding out the truth!" The male whined as his stomach clenched in pain," This is no time for me to be lying around in a hospital!" This made the two soldiers look in between each other and nod, making a smirk play on Rei's lips," Fullmetal Alchemist, sir!" This made Jeonghan look up at them curiously. " We do apologize in advance for this!" They spoke in unison as Suzy brought a hand down to slap Jeonghan in the face to daze him. The stupid look on his face making his sister laugh out. " You acted like a selfish child...!" Suzy scolded," You only escaped with your life because of your sister and you're lucky for that!" Then Suzy calmed down and began speaking in a softer tone," You don't have to do everything all on your own, you know... you can lean on other people like your sister. Like us as well, not all adults are the enemy. You can trust us."
Then they went back to soldier mode and spoke together," That's all! Please forgive our abusive words and conduct, sir! It will not happen again!" Then Jeonghan looked down, taking their lesson to heart," No... you're right. I should be apologizing." This made the room go silent for a moment, allowing Suzy to question her conduct," My punishment... for slapping you?" " Huh?" This confused Jeonghan as he looked over at the woman confused," Nothing. I had it coming. At least it wasn't Rei because she would have hit me into the wall and put me on life support." This made the woman drop a sweat, how abusive did he think she was?" I think you're mixing me up with Mina..." But hearing that news made Kihyun and Suzy sigh out relieved as Kihyun held his chest like he was finally able to breathe properly and Suzy held the wall for support. " What's with you two being so scared of me?" Jeonghan questioned as he dropped a sweat himself. " State certified alchemists carry a military rank equipped to that of a major." Suzy explained while Kihyun nodded and let out an uncomfortable hum in confirmation. " Don't worry about it." Jeonghan stated," I didn't get my certification so people would kiss up to me... you don't have to talk to me like I'm a high-ranking officer." " Really? Oh." Suzy immediately dropped the honorifics. " Huh..." Kihyun rubbed the back of his neck," I guess we were scared of the brat for nothing." This comment made Rei cry laughing while Jeonghan became instantly pissed off with his words. But this made Jeonghan realized something," Where's Josh? I haven't seen him." Kihyun took this as his time to speak," Joshua got his own lecture earlier... But... I was the one who did the slapping..." The male showed off his beat red hand from slapping the metal armor that made Rei chuckle out, Jeonghan laughed himself but the pain in his stomach came back from it which made him whine in pain while he also remember something else," I almost forgot... I have an even less pleasant lecture in store for me today..."
