Alchemy: the science of understanding, deconstructing, and reconstructing matter. However, it is not an all-powerful art. It is impossible to create something out of nothing. If one wishes to obtain something, something of equal value must be given. This is the law of equivalent exchange; the basis of all alchemy. In accordance with this law, there is a taboo among alchemists. Human transmutation is strictly forbidden. For what could equal the value of a human soul?

Chapter Three:
A Philosopher's Stone
1916

A rooster woke everyone up that morning with it's crowing- well besides the engineers in the house. Jeonghan woke up to the sound of that and buzzing, and he knew exactly where it was coming from. He traveled into Mina's doorway, looking in on her working- but not only that, he was surprised to find his sister sitting in Mina's bed working on a half-way finished automail arm.
He didn't know Rei was into gearhead stuff like this.
He walked into the room with a limp, coming up behind Mina with a look that he hoped to encourage her with- rather than make him look smug about her working hard, " Look at you, working hard so early in the morning."
" Been up all night." she spoke before sanding down the metal.
Jeonghan's look faltered before he went to his sister who was using something on wires, " So what are you doing?"
" Since someone is on a rush order, other orders were put on hold but I offered to do those." The girl says, switching her action to get a screwdriver and seal it up, " Finished this one, Mina. Got anymore?"
" Thanks! Not that I can think of, go ask Granny maybe?" Mina says before shooing Jeonghan away.

Later on in the day when the sun had set Jeonghan went into the room again, actually taking in her workspace. It was a wooden table with a chair pulled up to it, metal parts and wires laid around the table while more pieces of it were in boxes around the table. Mina seemed to be measuring something, nothing in her demeanor or work had changed since she never left the seat.
" Heh, heh, " Jeonghan smirked, putting a thumbs-up behind the girl, " You're still at it, busy as a bee." He peaked a look at her with one eye before finishing, " At this rate, you must be almost done."
" One more all-nighter." Mina confirmed as the lamp on the desk was the only thing lighting up her work.
A groaned sound left Jeonghan's mouth as he spoke, " Oh.."
The next morning Mina was still in the chair, measuring away at the major piece of Jeonghan's arm. This time Jeonghan came into the room and just watched her, holding a finger to his lip as he watched her measure. He started moving around her, as if looking at her from different angles would tell him about his automail's progress.
