"Shit shit shit" Ayla mumbled while she looked around frantically.
"Hurry you can't be late it's the first day" Emilia told her.
"Fuck I'm trying" she yelled and quickly grabbed her keys and stepped out the car.
Her hands were filled with a bunch of supplies for the new art class she decided to join. She walked quickly, kicking the door open. She could barely see past all the shit in her arms. She pulled her foot up and hit the elevator button, silently cursing at herself.
"God, you have horrible time management problems" Emilia said. The elevator doors opened, and Ayla hurried and got in and kicked the button for the 4th floor.
"It's Fine I'm gonna be fine" Ayla said calming her nerves.
"No, your screwed you hate attention like that and have a million things in your hand begging to fall and late there going to stare at you like no tomorrow" Emilia said.
"Shut up shut up you never shut up" Ayla said frustrated. The elevator doors opened once again making her quickly run to the door.
She looked at the numbers in the door looking for her class and finally found it.
"God how am I supposed to open this door shit" Ayla mumbled.
"Here I got you" someone said from behind and coming up to open the door. She couldn't see their face, but she muttered a thank you and stepped in the class. Her foot slipped making her jump forward and drop everything in her hands.
"Shit shit I'm so sorry oh my god" Ayla said on the verge of tears while everyone watched her frantically pick up all her things off the floor. One person kneeled down with her and began picking the stuff up with her. She didn't bother to look at them. She was too scared to make eye contact with anyone.
"I'm starting think you're just clumsy. How do you keep falling?" the person said making Ayla turn to them.
"Oh my gosh" she spoke out seeing Cyrus.
"Hurry and get that. Where are you sitting?" he said standing up. She looked up in shock then hurried and grabbed the last paint brush on the floor and stood back up.
"Um I don't know" she whispered confused and anxious.
"Ok then here you'll sit next to me scaredy cat" he said leading her to the seat next to him.
"I'll put these in my bag you can just take them when you want so you don't have so much in your hands." He spoke. He pushed the stuff he picked up in a pocket in his bag along with some of the stuff she had.
"Thank you" she said so quietly he could barely grasp why she said.
"Ok welcome to art class" the teacher started.
"I'm going to start the class with a little get to know you, so I want you guys to paint or draw something that really represents you. The drawing or painting should be colored if necessary and don't half ass it! I want to really see what you guys are capable of and comfortable with." she explained.
"You can go ahead and start now I'll come around and talk to you guys" she said. After she was done speaking everyone immediately began working each talking to someone and drawing. Ayla looked around feeling out of place and went to reach for a pencil that was in his bag.
"Hey" Cyrus called out.
"You know we can talk? No one can really hear us over their own conversations" he said.
"Oh, I'm sorry" she said continuing to draw out her sketch.
"I was thinking maybe we should hang out again" he said then started on his sketch.
"Why are you in this class?" she asked not breaking eye contact with her sketch.
"Our first period teacher recommended it for me so here I am" he said.
"Me too. She saw my notebook and said I should get some extra practice" she said. She spoke so quietly Cyrus noticed.
It was the people. He knew that that's why he didn't really try to get a lot out of her. He could gather she had bad anxiety and people scared her a little and he felt for her.
She noticed his voice was calmer, not like before when he sounded happy and excited. Now he sounded like he was just trying to make it seem like he was. She could tell the difference, but she didn't really piece why he was a little upset.
They both sat there quietly focusing on their sketch, but their minds wondered to each other. They sat there in silence for a while before Ayla leaned back and stretched. She turned her head to his sketch, and it took her by surprise how pretty it was.
"Oh my god that's amazing I didn't know you were that good" she said making his ears turn red and a sweet smile cross his face.
"I love the sunset this looks exactly like our dream wow" she said admiring his work.
"Yours is amazing too. I see we always seem to match" he said pointing to her.
When he did that his arm reached across her making her look down at it. She looked his arm up and down observing every detail. She noticed that he had scars all down his arms. Some old and some new. She noticed a band aid over his wrist telling her that was a recent one.
"Oh shit" he said not even noticing and then pulling his arm back down.
"Thank you I don't think I did our dream very much justice but I'm glad you liked it" she said looking at him then her sketch than back at him. She looked in his eyes noticing the shock within them.
"So, you're not gonna say anything about them?" he said.
"No that would be rude unless you would want me to comment on them" she said.
"No, I don't"
"Ok then it's not my business and I hope that if something is going on you have someone to talk to. If not you can always talk to me if that's what you want" she said smiling at him.
She wanted to hug him and tell him she loved him she truly hates seeing him in pain even if his tone of voice was off, she would want to try and fix it but she didn't, she couldn't.
"That's very sweet thank you" he said back at her.
Her comment left butterflies in his stomach he hated when people pitied him, and she surprisingly had a good reaction. She didn't try to fix him or tell him some bull shit like "oh don't do that For me!" He could tell she was genuine, and it made him all soft and gooey inside.
"Is a part of being soulmates make us mind readers or some bull shit like that it's crazy how we drew the same dream" she said.
"You guys are soulmates?" the teacher asked out of nowhere making them both jump up.
"Yes, we are!" Cyrus smiled proudly.
"Oh, that's so sweet" She said then talked to each other, then individually and there art.
