The shoelaces of my untied Converse smacked against the asphalt as I ran to the Curtis house. I would've rode my bike or taken my mom's car but I panicked and started running.

Dallas had called me and said he was in an accident and he was injured. So I ran. As fast as I could.

"Great way to spend my birthday." I muttered as I opened the gate and walked up onto the porch.

I swung open the door and the house looked empty. No lights were on. The television wasn't even on. Was I being pranked?

"Dally if this is a prank I swear." I called out.

No answer. What the hell?

I turned to leave the house and I heard rustling. Then shouting.

"Surprise!!"

"Happy birthday!"

All the guys emerged from their hiding spots with balloons and presents and cake. I smiled and covered my mouth with my hands.

"Ahh! I can't believe you guys!" I squealed.

Dally walked up to me and pulled me into a hug.

"Was this your idea?" I looked up at him.

"Maybe." He smiled.

"You know, that was kind of a fucked up way to get me here." I whispered.

"I know." He planted a kiss on my lips. I threw an arm around his neck and kissed him back.

"Alright alright, enough smoochin'. Let's have some cake!" Steve shouted.

We all gathered around the dining room table.

Darry put 18 pink and white candles on the cake. He lit them and then they all started singing. Even Dally was singing. I can't recall ever hearing him sing. I smiled at him, a huge smile. He shook his head and his serious face turned into a smile.

I closed my eyes and blew out my candles. Dally came up behind me and put his hands on my shoulders.

"So, what'd ya wish for?" He whispered.

"If I tell you, it won't come true." I teased.

He fake-frowned. I smiled and kissed his cheek.

Darry started passing out the cake. Dallas took his cake to the couch and I went and sat down basically on him.

I took a glob of icing on my finger and wiped it on his nose. He turned to face me and his eyebrows furrowed. I thought I was about to die.

He picked up what was left of my cake and smashed it on my face. My jaw dropped and a chunk of the cake plopped back onto the plate.

"DAL!" I shouted. The rest of the gang was sitting at the table, chatting but they turned their attention this way when they heard me yell.

He smirked and laughed.

"I hate you." I remarked. Obviously I wasn't being serious.

"Oh you love me." He leaned closer to my face.

"Maybe." I planted my chocolate cake covered face on his and kissed him.

He pulled away. Cake covered his mouth. It added to what he already had on his nose.

"Man, that totally backfired. Johnny can I get a napkin?" He yelled across the house.

"Yeah!" Johnny shouted back. He ran out with a few napkins and then ran back to the table to eat his cake.

Dallas tossed a napkin to me and I cleaned my face. I looked out window and noticed the sun was about to start going down.

"Hey, wanna walk to our favorite park so we can watch the sunset?" I turned to face him.

He nodded and stood up. I took his hand and we walked to the park, just in time to watch the sunset. We laid in the grass, cuddling.

Dally never used to be into sunsets until Johnny said something to him about it, and he decided to watch one. He liked it and we've been watching sunsets together since.

"Look over there, it's purple!" I exclaimed as I pointed to the sky.

"Wow, that's real pretty." He had genuine joy in his voice.

I snuggled up closer to him.

"Today was a good day." I took his hand in mine once again.

"It was." He kissed my forehead.

"I never knew you were such a softie." I smiled.

He just chuckled and didn't even have a response. Cause deep down, he knew that I was right.

Dallas Winston was a big softie. And it was all because of me.
