TW abuse!

I sighed as I walked out of the school. I hadn't been doing too well lately and I knew my dad was gonna get on me about it when I got home.

I kneeled down on the sidewalk to put the books I had in my arms, in my bag. I slung my bag back on my back and headed for home.

It wasn't all that far of a walk home so I wasn't really worried about walking home by myself. I got home and I dreaded opening the door because I knew the school called my dad about my bad grades.

I opened the door slowly and shut it slowly, hoping he wouldn't hear me, but that didn't really help. The second I walked in the house, I was met with lectures.

"Care to tell me why you have a C in English?" He was fuming.

"I- uh.." I started to speak, but I was cut off by him screaming.

"I don't wanna hear your excuses!" His voice boomed through the house.

"Y'know, I bet it's that Greaser boyfriend of yours. He such a bad influence." He started going on and on about how I was a bad daughter for dating a Greaser and just badmouthing my boyfriend, Ponyboy. It's not like we were Socs or anything like that, we were just middle class. My dad just hated Greasers. I don't know why.

"You leave him out of this!" I shouted. I shouted? At my dad? Who am I?

He didn't even hesitate to slap me across the face after I yelled.

"You are so disrespectful!" Tears were forming in my eyes but I didn't let them fall. I felt my body start to shake. I turned around and ran out the door.

I kept running until I got to Ponyboy's house.

I raised my hand to knock on the door. It was still shaking.

Sodapop answered the door. His signature movie star smile was plastered across his face. But it quickly faded once he saw how shaken up I was. He noticed the red mark on my cheek, that had already started turning into a bruise.

"Y/n what happened?" He lead me into the house and sat me down on the couch.

"He hit me. My dad, he hit me." His eyes grew wide. He left the room and came back with Pony.

"Are you ok sweetie?" He cupped my bruising cheek.

I shook my head 'no'. Anger was written all over Pony's face. He walked over to the phone and dialed a number. Sodapop and Darry walked out of the kitchen. Darry looked over at me with the same look Ponyboy had on his face just a few seconds ago.

I stared down at my feet. I can't believe my dad hit me. How could he do that?

Pony finished his phone call and came to sit by me.

"It's ok baby, we'll take care of it." I looked up at him. I wanted to know what he meant but at the same time I didn't.

"I'll be right back." He placed a kiss on my forehead and the three brothers left. I heard them talking to Dally outside.

They were gone for like half an hour.

When they came back, Ponyboy rushed to the bathroom. I heard water running for a few seconds and then he walked back out.

His knuckles were red. That's when I realized what they did.

"You guys didn't hurt him too bad, did ya?" I asked, afraid to hear the answer.

"Nah, it was mostly intimidation. Pony here was the only one who actually threw a punch." Sodapop smiled, remembering the look on his face when Pony punched him.

"And it was a damn good punch too." Darry actually sounded proud of his brother for inciting violence.

"Yep. He even bled a little." Dally said with a chuckle. I didn't even realize he was there until he said that.

Ponyboy sat next to me.

"He won't hit you anymore okay? I promise." He said as he pushed my hair behind my ear. I nodded and rested my head on his shoulder. He placed an arm around me and rested his head on mine. I wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged him as tight as I could.

As much as I hated violence, I was glad Pony did what he did. My dad was not going to hit me and get away with it. I'm so grateful that I have Ponyboy to protect me.
