As soon as I walked into school a few days later, I was grabbed and pushed around a corner. I sighed. Not this again. Turning to face Kirsten, I groaned. "What do you want?"

Kirsten smiled at me. "I just wanted to know how you're getting on," she said sweetly.

"It's going well, I'm his girlfriend now."

"That's great!" Kirsten squealed. "You only have a day left, though. Tomorrow you have to break up with him," she reminded me.

I sighed. Over the past few days, Caleb and I had grown even closer, if that was possible. I couldn't believe that after tomorrow I would go back to my old, Caleb-free life of going to parties and kissing boys.

I hadn't touched alcohol since I had started talking to Caleb, nor had I touched another boy, bar Ash, who was always sneaking up behind me and wrapping his arms around my waist. Caleb always got really jealous, which I found amusing.

"There's some things you need to know about Caleb Evans," Kirsten whispered.

"I overheard him on the phone the other day, and he's only going out with you because of your money. He's planning to get close to you and steal it all, then escape to Hawaii, where his parents are living. They aren't dead at all. It was just a lie to make you pity him. Too bad I found out, and now you know. I think you should just go ahead with dumping him tomorrow, and act all lovey-dovey with him for the rest of today."

I stared at her in shock. Either Kirsten was a very good actress, or she was serious. I'd seen her in Drama class. She couldn't act for her life.

I gulped. So it was true. Suddenly, I felt a wave of anger rush through me. How dare he play with my feelings like that! I was going to make him pay.

Nobody messes with Zara Quinn and gets away with it.

I smirked. I had the perfect way to break up with him. "Thanks, Kirsten!" I called over my shoulder as I started to walk away. Time to put my plan into action.
