Chapter 10

I waltzed into school, feeling determined. Today was the day.

I saw Caleb by his locker, and Ash waiting where I had asked him to, just straight across from Caleb. That meant he would be able to see everything.

I strutted past Caleb, noticing his head going up, watching me. He was probably wondering why I didn't stop by him to say hi. I mean, I was his girlfriend. Not for much longer, now.

I stopped by Ash and leaned in close to his ear. "Morning, baby," I purred. Ash groaned slightly, giving me the signal.

Caleb was watching us. "What's up, babe?" He asked, his voice slightly husky. He was enjoying this way too much. "I've missed you," I purred again.

"Oh really?" Ash asked. "How about a good morning kiss then?"

Now was the time. I threw my arms around Ash's neck and pulled him to me, connecting our lips.

We were kissing for a full two minutes, Ash's tongue in my mouth, before I was pulled off him. Thank god. Kissing Ash was disgusting.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" Caleb hissed, his eyes filled with anger and hurt. Great acting skills, boy, but I got you all figured out.

I laughed bitterly. "I'm kissing my boyfriend, Caleb, what does it look like?" He gaped, open-mouthed. "But I'm your boyfriend!" He stuttered.

I looked around the corridor. Almost everyone was watching by now. I spotted Kirsten giving me a thumbs-up sign. I was doing well.

I laughed again. "It was all a dare, Caleb. A stupid dare. I never loved you. I love Ash. Not you. Now leave me alone," I said harshly. It hurt to say those words. It felt like my heart was being ripped in two.

Caleb clenched his fists. "I fucking trusted you! I thought you were genuine, unlike your other fucked up friends. I thought you were different. But now I know," he shouted. "You're just a cheap whore." He snarled the last bit, laughed humourlessly, and turned, stalking down the corridor.

I was hurt by his words. How could he say that to me when he was planning to steal my money? I turned to Ash, managing a small smile. "Thanks for that," I whispered. "Anytime, babe," he replied, kissing me on the forehead.
