Read Books

The biggest of writers follow this tip too and I wish I had learnt earlier that you should never take long breaks from reading.

Read The Comments

If you are a beginner, don't shy from stalking other writers. Read the type of books you want to write and try to understand what the audience likes. One way of doing it is reading the comments under your favourite books. It helps you actually produce something that people enjoy.

Don't stop writing even if it's one sentence a day.

Give your books some time

I have seen many good writers end a book in just a few days and that's awesome. But I personally love being in the feels of my main characters. I love living (!) their lives. Create pinterest boards, thousands of aesthetic collages, think of them throughout the day and save sentence starters from their scenes. Spend time with your characters to learn little details about them. The details make them seen realistic.

No long Author's Note please

Pinterest!

Be it for writing tips, covers, aesthetics, or just inspiration. It's so motivating to find pins that describe your characters. There's so much! I have so many boards with so so many sections.

Pinterest is the biggest writing tool and let alone not mentioning it enough no one even mentions it.

Canvas + PicsArt

Canvas + PicsArt for book covers. Canvas has cute writing fonts.

Use [ ]

Forgot a word?

Use [ ] and write it down later. You are writing an American guy's POV and aren't sure if ‘travelling’ is written with one L or two in American?

Use [ ]. Confused what two synonyms to use? Use [word 1/word 2]

When you are done with the chapter, go and search for all the [ ] and fix them.

I use them all the time. Sometimes you are not in the mood to write chronologically and you want to skip and write the part that is flowing out of your heart at the moment.

Sometimes you are too into writing to go Google. Do not drag down your productivity peak just because you can't find the exact word for something.

Proofread Twice

Write at least three chapters...

Write at least three chapters before uploading any book. Wattpad's algorithm is difficult to understand. A book you aren't sure about could get so many views and votes and then you'd regret not knowing where you wanted to take it.

As a reader too, it's awful to have a writer take down a book that piqued your interest.

Extra; Short Tips // Personal Opinions

Too much description is boring

More dialogues

Short paragraphs

More action

Keep a normal pace. Neither too slow, nor too fast.

More chemistry

And!

Don't stop writing cliches, they're fun.

SPECIFICALLY ENEMIES TO LOVERS AGHH
