Ever since you were born, your parents always expected something from you that you couldn't fulfill. They wanted you to have pale purple eyes like them, instead, you had e/c eyes. They wanted you to have naturally lilac hair like your grandfather's, instead, you had h/c hair.

When you were old enough to pick up hobbies, they wanted you to play the guitar or dance, instead, you were interested in swordsmanship. "It's basically dancing, but more dangerous." you told them.

Your brother was a demon slayer, a soon-to-be-Hashira, to be precise. One day, a kasugai crow landed on your porch, delivering the message that your brother was killed by none other than Upper moon two.

The day after that, you started training to become a demon slayer. Your master was called Kuwajima Jigoro, the former Thunder Hashira. Within the course of four months, you became a demon slayer and even a Hashira, the new Moon Hashira.

In the process, you caught the attention of a certain Sound Hashira. "I see, you're interested in our Moon Hashira." Oyakata-sama said, noticing the way the white haired man looked at you. His illness hadn't spread a lot, so he wasn't blind yet.

"Indeed. She is a very flamboyant woman. She doesn't seem like she wants to be approached, however." Tengen told his master. "Oh, don't be afraid. She is a very nice young lady." Oyakata-sama smiled.

When the next Hashira meeting took place, the first Hashira meeting you attended and where you would be introduced to the other Hashira, Tengen finally decided to approach you.

"Ah, Tengen-sama! It's a pleasure to meet you." you smiled at him and noticed the small blush on his cheeks. It was never difficult for Tengen to talk to women, yet it seemed like the first time he approached a girl when he talked to you.

"You don't need to call me sama, l'm not higher in rank than you are." Tengen said, crossing his arms over his broad chest. "Yet, you are older than me and have been a Hashira longer than me." you countered.

"That might be true. How old are you?" he asked, unsure of wether his little crush on you was illegal or if he was okay. "I'm twenty-one. You are twenty-two, correct?" you asked.

"Indeed. Are you excited for your first Hashira meeting?" he asked. On the inside, he was relieved to know you were only a year younger than him. "Mh, not really, if I'm being honest. It's very stressful and I don't like the attention. Plus, the only thing I can think about is how my brother was supposed to be here, not me." you answered truthfully.

"Akabane Hanzaki?" Tengen asked, more to himself. "Yes. My name's Akabane Y/N." you explained. Tengen wanted to say something, but Oyakata-sama approached and you quickly knelt in front of him.

All of this happened over a year ago. In the meantime, you'd met Tengen's wives, got engaged to him and even introduced him to your parents. Of course, they weren't happy with your choice.

"What did I even expect them to do? Be happy for me? Ha! They'd rather die." you complained to Hinatsuru. "Why are they so unhappy about your decision?" she
asked, not really expecting an answer.

"It's me we're talking about, Hina. Even if I came home with someone they picked for me, they'd be unhappy because l'd just accept my faith." you grumbled.

Suma opened the door and ran up to you, jumping into your arms. The impact surprised you, so you let out a little "oof" when you caught her. She cuddled up to you and you kissed her forehead.

"They will accept it eventually, Y/N. Will you invite them to your wedding?" Hina asked. "I don't think so. They don't deserve to see me happy. I want them to regret how they treated me when they realize that I don't care about them anymore." you answered.

The door opened once again and Tengen walked in, wearing his demon slayer uniform. He kissed Hina and Suma on their temples before asking them to give the two of you some privacy.

"How did the talk with your parents go?" he asked after he kissed you on the lips. He turned to your wardrobe and pulled out one of his favorite yukatas.

"I think you can guess how it went." you sighed, plopping yourself on the bed. After he'd changed, he sat down next to you and put his head in your lap. You started playing with his hair. If anyone else but you, Hina, Suma or Makio touched his hair, they would have probably already lost their hands.

"Tell me about it." he said. "Well, first they
complained about the way I was dressed. Then, they said that we took our relationship way too fast and that I wouldn't be happy with you and the others. When I told them that the four of you made me happy, my mother said how stupid and naive I was." you said, absentmindedly playing with his hair.

"I'm sorry." he murmured before sitting up and kissing you. You smiled softly at him before pulling him in a hug. "I feel like we're Patroclus and Achilles." he laughed.

"Well, kind of. Though I think you'd be Achilles, the hero everyone knew would change the world." you said. "Indeed, but your parents don't like me and Achilles' mother didn't like Patroclus. So you'd
probably be Achilles." he retorted.

You talked a bit more about everything that came to your mind, from Achilles and Patroclus (your favorite myth) to your wedding to the future in general, before the two of you fell asleep, him laying with his head on your chest while you played with his hair.

Eventually, Hina, Suma and Makio joined the two of you, cuddling up close to you and Tengen. Maybe your parents didn't like your decisions- actually, you knew they didn't like your decisions- but you didn't care, because the people you loved the most were around you, and that was what's important to you.
