Remorse

After staying in my cave a few days, I walked out with a red face and tear soaked eyes. The Plantars walked up to me with the Fro Mobile. "Hey Donnie" Sprig said "Sasha told us you had an accident. And we're here to try and talk you through the healing process" I just sighed "I'm going for a drink".
I walked up to Stumpy's countertop "Hey Stumpy. Give me a glass of rubarb" Stumpy just looked at me, nodded, and pulled out a bottle of rubarb juice. "Donnie?" I turned around to see Anne and Sasha. They walked slowly towards me. Sasha placed a hand on my shoulder, and I put my head on her's "Are you ready to tell us what happened?" Anne asked me. I took a deep breath and nodded. The next thing I knew they called a meeting and put me on the main stage. I took off my hat "The Scuttlebutt's are dead. We tried another flyby to Andrias's castle, but we were hit by a robot. I panicked and rolled Neil. We were thrown, and he crashed into a ledge. We were a good few feet up, not exactly sure, but the only reason I survived was because I got knocked into a river. I watched their souls leave their bodies. That's why I've been so sad lately. It was all my fault, but I want you guys to know, I never wanted to hurt them. Thank you for your time" I walked off the stage with my tail between my legs, and walked out to the remains of the Plantar house. I just needed to be on my own for awhile. Then I thought back to something that happened when I was 9. My Grunkle Stan suffered a heart attack, and then my Great Uncle Ford died of an undiagnosed illness he had contracted from his time in the multiverse.

"Are you OK Mom?" I asked as I saw my Mom on the couch with a box of tissues and a picture from when she and my uncle Dipper were younger. "Pearl. Yeah, Mom's alright sweetheart." I sat next to her "I miss them too". A tear rolled down her face "But, you've got me, Gina, Miracle, and Mama." She looked at me "You shouldn't be sad because they're gone, you should be happy you got to spend time with them" She turned her head fully towards me "Thanks Pearl. I'm gonna go call your Aunt Candy" She hugged me and kissed me on the forehead, and walked upstairs.

"It took her a long time to get over our Grunkle's" I said to myself, but I kept thinking of what I said "You shouldn't be sad because they're gone, you should be happy you got to spend time with them". I went back in, and in the cave we shared, I found a framed picture of me and the Scuttlebutt's. I picked it up, and went to get some wood. Later, everyone saw me making a wooden door. "Donnie, what're you doing?" Ivy asked me. "I figured, it might be disrespectful if I'm living in a place that used to belong to dearly departed souls. So I'll just make this, and put this photo on it" I showed her the photo, and she smiled "That's really mature Donnie" she said

I finished the door, and with some red paint I painted a heart on it. I wrote "The Scuttlebutt's. Claire. Sammy. Connie" in it. And then I nailed the photo onto it.

After a couple of laps around the underground community, I went over to Sasha's cave. "Hey Sasha, I-" She cut me off "Ivy told me. If you wanna sleep here from now on, I'd be fine with that" I smiled and placed myself on a spare cot she had. "Thanks Sasha. I love you" Sasha smiled and layed next to me "I love you too" she kissed me, and we fell asleep hugging each other.
