"There's no need to get attached to them."

They all were gonna die in the end. That was why he never got attached.

One more week before another one got "adopted". He's known this since forever, so he never decided to get attached to them. They all weren't gonna make it anyways. Nobody else besides him knew this. Besides, they would just think he was lying, right?

It was another late night that he was sitting in the library. Everyone was all asleep, excited and happy for Conny. He should be happy for her too, right? But he knows what actually happens to them. They all weren't going to meet the happy ending that they all wanted to meet. They were all heading to the same type of fate that has been around for nobody knows how long.

"Maybe we'll all just die here and let this thing happen forever." Ray mumbled.

A lightly dimmed candle gave off little light in the empty library, along with the moon light that came pouring in through the uncovered windows. Unknowingly to him, another was also up at this odd hour.

"Ray? You're still up?" A light voice asked standing from the doorway. Nobody else should be up. So why is someone else also awake? Ray slightly turned to the door to see who it was. Surprisingly it was someone he didn't expect. Thinking it was one of the little kids, but instead was Anna.

"Yeah... Why are you still up?" Ray asked taking the chair next to him out of the table and patting it. Anna came and sat down and sighed.

"Mhnn... Couldn't sleep. I heard someone leave the room." Anna answered.

They both sat in the silence of the house that was usually loud, both just sitting and taking in the quietness before one spoke.

"What were you saying about dying here and let this thing happen forever?" Anna finally asked looking somewhere else. Ray sat there in silence before shrugging his shoulders.

" Just thinking of something. Nothing to worry about."

" Hm... Okay." Anna mumbled. Still feeling like something else was going on.

Both continued sitting in silence before they drifted off to sleep in the library. Knowing that they would both get little sleep before the chaos erupts again in the orphanage.
