A Toy Friend (Huggy Wuggy x Female Reader)

The passing day (Chp. 3)

Y/n's POV

- Time skip -

I was 14 now and I heard horrible news which upset my mother so much. I stayed home from school to spend the day with her. Her boss (who was my friend) Evelyn died. She died from a heart attack at her house. Apparently it was from the drinks she was drinking (like too many energy drinks or too much wine.)

My mother didn't cry but she was in a bad mood all day so I decided to comfort her. "Mum, what's going to happen to the factory if Evelyn isn't there to control the bills or take care of it?"

She replied while putting her hand on mine, "I am going to take control of it," I stared at her in shock as she didn't look like she was joking. "Evelyn used to pay well to her employees' it was quite a good pay for us so I will be able to take care of the factory although i will not tell you how much I earned missy." I giggle as she touched my cheek.

I was happy for her, she always liked the factory and never wanted it to go to waste. My mum loved children and always watched out for them even if she didn't know them. I remember a group of kids were bullying this kid in the alleyway near my primary school because of their looks and my mum chased them with her slippers. I laughed at my thoughts and I hugged my mum.

Later that day, we went shopping for food. I normally hated shopping but I did it to cheer my mum up since she loved it. I noticed how much ice cream we got. "Mum? Isn't that too much?"
She shakes her head.

"There is always enough ice cream for two people on a sad day." We held hands as we left the shops and went to the factory.

I shared time with Huggy Wuggy and Kissy Missy and told them the tragic story of Evelyn. Luckily, mum left early to eat her ice cream at home so I got to roam the factory with the 'toys'.

As I already knew the secret of the huggys being human they didn't hide it away from me.

"We kind of need to tell you something about Poppy, Candy Cat, Cat Bee, Ron and Boogie-bot."

They were the most common toys in the factory so I wanted to know if they was something going on about the common toys as I listened closely to Huggy Wuggy's voice, he continued, "They are...uhm...kinda human aswell...?"

"What?!" I screeched by accident and covered my mouth, "How come?"

"Well we are all friends with each other. Poppy used to hate us for our popularity but as we were the only commons ones she got used to talking with us but she can be a little bitchy sometimes."

"Even if so, would they ever show me their human forms?" I asked him and he carried on.

"Well Poppy probably won't until you get closer to her, Candy Cat and Cat Bee wouldn't mind as long as you don't judge them which I doubt you will and Boogie-Bot and Bron will but may question how you know, but I will explain it to them so do not worry y/n."

"Poppy is interesting." I thought to myself as night time took over I travelled back home.
