Chapter 15Zoe's Pov.
Words couldn't describe how I was feeling today.
I was pumped for the game Friday and Damon had made it his mission to make sure we would beat the asses of the Rangers for the Friday game.
The one thing I didn't enjoy though, was Damon's older brother. He always seemed to pick on me even if I hadn't initiated the argument.
"Zoe, I'm sure you would know Harper Lee's message in to kill a mockingbird." Mr.Alexander snaps me out of my happy mood. I snap my head up to glare at him. He was always out to annoy me in some way.
"Her message was to show us segregation and how it effected the main protagonist Jean Louise." I answer honestly. He gives me a surprised look, shocked that I actually knew the answer.
"Very good, Miss Hockens." he looks away from me before going back up to his desk. Mason leans over to fist bump with me.
"Go girllll!" He snaps his fingers.
"Today, I want you guys to work on your essay draft in class. Please don't talk and try to get work done." He says and then sits back behind his desk. I instantly turn towards Damon and the boys.
"Guys, I just realize if we win this game then we can go on to the championships!" I bounce in my seat. The guys laugh at my reaction.
"You know that the sports assembly is also coming up soon, right?" Damon smiles at me. I open my mouth in shock. The sports assembly that came up in our school was a huge production when the best sports captains would be nominated with an award of the year. This year was suppose to be different because now, there could only be one captain with the special award of the year.
I hoped it was me.
"Oh my goodness do you know how fucking happy that would make me?!" I squeeze Damon's arm hard. He doesn't even flinch. All he does is smile warmly at me.
"Would you like to share what you are disrupting the class for?" Mr. Alexander asks me.
"Yeah we were just talking about the sports awards that's coming up." I state making the class laugh.
"Oh okay, please do carry on." Mr.Alexander crosses his arms.
"Well I would, except I wasn't really talking to you, so..." I trail off sarcastically.
"I'm sure you can find something to say in detention." Mr.Alexanders shoots a remark back making the whole class 'ohhhh'.
I glare at him before angrily opening my notebook for the essay draft. What did we even have to write? I hardly ever payed attention in class anyway, so I usually just asked the guys what was going on, but they usually didn't know either.
"What are we suppose to do?" I asked out loud. Mr. Alexanders head shoots up to give me an irritated look.
"You are suppose to write an essay on something you believe in fighting for, I already told you this Miss Hockens and I won't tell you again." Mr. Alexander snaps at me. I nod my head at him before writing in my notebook.
Things I want to fight for:
Better cafeteria food.
Winning Friday's game.
Assholes of teachers.
I read the last line in my mind and smiled to myself. Mr. Alexander was so infuriating, I should just write a paper on how much of an ass teachers like him are.
